Tarne WC#11 Remembering

They gave their lives to keep us safe,
We are grateful for all they gave.
We miss them all and we are free so let us keep the memories.
Think about the things that they did for us,
Something that we will always touch.
Love is priceless and safe something you shall always take
Poppies were in the fields on that day,
Possibly may appear one day.
The risky things they did for us,
Should live forever let us hope it does.
We wear our poppies today with pride,
To commemorate why they died.
So silent remembrance on the day.

  1. Well done Tarne, you have obviously thought very carefully about the meaning of Remembrance Day and made every single word count.
Would the 3rd line be better split in two with the break after free?
I liked -"Poppies were in the fields on that day,
Possibly may appear one day." but would reappear be better?

  2. You did a lovely job, Tarne, with this prompt. Using a poem format was an excellent choice and allowed you to highlight the importance of Remembrance Day very effectively -- something that is harder to do in sentences. Wear your poppy with pride!
