Emerson - Because I said so

“What was that?” I couldn't move, couldn't breathe. I was frozen to the spot like a statue. My heart began pounding ... duh-duh, duh-duh. A shiver crept down my spine and the hairs on the back of my neck stood to attention.
“Is it just my imagination playing tricks on me or is something there?”
Stepping forward tentatively, like a lion stalking its prey, I exclaimed, “If anyone is here, show yourself now!”
A voice whispered so only I could hear it, “Why should I?”
I replied with, “Because I said so and if you don't, trouble lies ahead!”

…it reminded me of a time when…by Emerson

As I stepped through the colourless gate, I noticed - on the horizon - the silhouette of a bare tree standing out against the vibrant background. As I began my approach, the once lifeless tree started to spring into action, as blossom and leaves began to form and the tree itself proceeded towards me. I started to feel tense, anxious, unable to think straight. It reminded me of a time when I was unable to control what was happening to my body as I suffered excruciating pain from an appendicitis.

...but what colour should it be? by Emerson W

At midnight on September 5th a strange animal appeared out of nowhere. It had a zebra shaped head on top of a scaly rigid body. I couldn't quite make out what colour it was but what colour should it be?  It was pitch black, so I couldn't see all of its body but wherever it was it didn't give itself away. I ran for my life and it began to chase me. By the time I got to the end of the creepy football pitch daylight was beginning to shine. Through the daylight I could make out that it had fragile curved horns. Why was it out in the wild?
