… I was so cross that … by Roxanne

I was reading one of my favourite books, when my little-brother (who is very annoying) shouted me. I went to his room to ask him what he wanted when he just started giggling and said: “What do you mean? I never called you.”
I trotted back to my room and carried on reading. I again, heard my brother shout my name. I didn’t listen to him – because I knew he was playing a prank – when he repeatedly screamed my name (just to make me mad!) I was so cross that I just put my earphones in and ignored him.

The Mansion by Roxanne

“Hello?” echoed a young-boy’s squeaky voice throughout the abandoned walls of the mansion. “Is anybody in here?” he asked again.
He received no answer and decided to look around for his missing ball (that had smashed through the house’s misty windows). He found a candy stall – but was disappointed when he found out it was empty...
The chequered floor was like an illusion to him, as if each pattern got bigger... and bigger...
Finally, he had found his ball! He dashed out of the mansion and was thankful for leaving the creepy, torn state that it was in.

…empty. What a surprise!…, Roxanne

“Alright, surrender the gold, Hook!” shouted Peter Pan – from beyond the sky’s shaded grey clouds.
“I’ll never give it to a young, and silly boy like you!” yapped Captain Hook, whilst his servant (Smee) looked through his rusted telescope to spot out Peter’s next move. Hook was very stubborn (and absolutely HATED Pan).
Hook rushed to his hammock and laid out the little treasure box he had stolen from Peter. He opened it roughly, with a fierce force, to find it... empty. What a surprise!
He yelled in anger “I’ll get you Pan!” .... whilst hearing him laughing in the distance.

RED LADDER SINKING COINS PAVEMENT by Roxanne

I opened my dull eyes to a new boring day, whilst awaking my body to get changed for work. I took my red ladder – which cost me ten silver coins – and started my journey. On my travels to my work place, I spotted a construction site. I wondered what it was there for - since I have never seen any problems with the area. Leaning closer, I saw newly planted cement (sinking) into the pavement, that’s when I realized, they were building a new block of houses! Anyway, I carried along and headed straight to my work.

…the vinegar was too sharp… by Roxanne

“I’ll take a fish and chip special delight please,” stated John, “and add extra vinegar as well, thank you!” He carefully counted out the total cost of the meal (£11.54) and sat down on a flashy blood-red table, with a matching wobbly chair.
Around 20 minutes later, his meal was served, the mouth-watering delicate food was now in his ownership. He took his first big bite on a wonky chip and almost immediately spat it out! The vinegar was too sharp! He asked a nearby waitress for a refund but still had to pay.
“Next time, I won't add anymore vinegar...”

The Lost Bear by Roxanne

People trudge, carelessly, across the stained panelled fair-ground floor – not attentive to what's beneath their feet. Toddlers and kids sprint around the fair, ride to ride – with their teddies in hand. This is how a little girl’s teddy, Rupert, was lost. She had been too focused on the new Air-Jet Super-Speed ride, and she had lost him in the process of buying tickets. Dirt and unhealthy food would pile, unevenly, on-top of his curled blonde fur, causing tangles and knots. His red ribbon of joy would quickly weather and fade away, leaving emptiness and sadness. Would his owner ever come back?

… it was completely out of tune…, Roxanne

Forcefully, his rough fingers thudded on the cut through strings of his poorly looked after guitar.
In his mind, he was a famous musician, who was the best at playing his fretted musical instrument.
“Can you keep that horrible noise down, Simon?” shouted Esra – his sister - who was much more of a brass person.
“It’s called a symphony!” he barked, sharply.
‘’You call that a symphony?” asked his sister, in sarcasm “It was completely out of tune!”
Simon kept his head down and carried on playing his instrument (not knowing how bad it was) “You’ll regret this,” he mumbled.

Roxanne: FRINGE EGGS BLACK WASHED FLICKERING

My alarm woke me up – very early – this morning, but after 10-15 minutes I carefully remembered why. “I need to go to the hair dressers!” I shouted loudly.
My classmates had been trying this new trend with their hair at school, you would dye your hair black and add a classy fringe to it! I also wanted to try it out.
I dashed downstairs and put on my freshly washed clothes, then I started my day with some fried eggs and toast – what else would I have?

Later on, I replaced my flickering hallway lights and made my way down-town.

Colourful Statues by Roxanne

Colourful statues surround a quiet, lonely pier. They’re lined up in an army-formation, but yet stone silent. Nobody knows why they are there. Many people have many theories, myths and tales. But nobody really knows why.  People also say that they are over 1,000,000 years old. But I don’t think that’s true.
I think that they are re-makings of the ancient Chinese soldier statues known as the Terracotta Army that were found underground. But they don’t have the same material.
Yet nobody knows what tales are true or not – and nobody really cares.
I guess that they just accept them all now.

The Figure by Roxanne

The text is a description of what’s going on inside the narrator’s head.

The figure
Finally, my new house was now up and ready for me! I’ve been waiting for months!
I turn the handle of the door-knob in a steady right formation
Huh? Who’s that... and why is she in my house!
“Uhm... Ma'am... I think you have the wrong house, I don’t even know how you got in here!”
“Huh? Where did you go?”
She’s...she’s... gone!
But how could she just disappear?
I shoot my eyes to see if she’s still around... but she’s nowhere to be seen...

Bicycle Empty Bubbles Fired Pink, by Roxanne

On a particularly sunny Friday evening, I was riding my favourite green bicycle - when I had to stop and empty my small knitted pockets, my pockets were full of old greasy receipts, and ancient scrunched up school notes (It didn't really take long, I would say about 10-50 seconds) I was just about to climb back on my bike, when I saw transparent bubbles coming from inside my neighbour’s bin, I tried to solve the problem, but then my grouchy boss (Gerald) rang to tell me I was fired because I dyed his only plain white shirt hot pink.

Roxanne - The light blinded him

Susan / News reporter: Today we ask a middle-aged man, Tom Lewis about how the light blinded him.
Tom: Thank-you Susan. It was a couple of years ago... I think I was helping my dad Lucas with the light bulbs that needed to be replaced.
Tom: I was screwing on the light-bulb when it flashed into my eyes. It was a painful experience... Not to say the rest is a blur.’’
Susan / News reporter: ‘’Wow! How traumatic! Well folks, that’s it for today! Thank-you for joining us on our Daily News channel! I’m your host Susan Leon and I'm now reporting out!’’

As Christmas Day drew near by Roxanne

As Christmas Day drew near and near,
Everyone was in good cheer.
Eyes were gleaming,
And children were dreaming,
About the wrapped presents – that may lay in their stockings on Christmas Day.
The trees were shown, with a star on-top
As the baubles, hung stop after stop
The tree of holly blew wild,
As the snow piled, like a running mile.
This is known as a Winter’s Christmas,
The kids play – day after day
And no-one remembers dismay.
For all is jolly in this jolly season
Although there is no need for a reason.
For Christmas Day is very special…

We seemed to be on the television, by Roxanne

One night, I was invited to star on a game-show... I had no idea what it was, but I accepted it anyway.
When I arrived, there seemed to be a large building there – covered in lights – it looked pretty new, and extremely loud! (Which meant that there must have been a lot of people inside.)
When I stepped inside, I noticed a large amount of cameras rush towards me! It was like I was a celebrity or something... I look around and there were people standing around desks like me, but then I noticed... we seemed to be on the television.

Roxanne - Bricks Gorilla Yellow Running Pretty

As I was colouring in my newly-drawn picture, I had an image in my head – it was quite unusual for a ‘pretty’ girl my age to be thinking about, but...oh well...
My thought was of an old woman, wearing a yellow sweater, who owned the dullest blue eyes. It was just a normal day – of which she would think.
As the hours would go by, something ‘wild’ would happen....
A running gorilla would come towards her house of bricks and-
No, no, scrap that paper work - my dear writer - Pier! It’s no good for a story.
Too.... unusual...

Roxanne - …I wondered what was behind the door…

Dear Diary,
A while after I heard the voice, I was transported to this room.
I have no Idea where I am – all I can see is a pitch black surrounding myself.
As I get up, I begin to walk forwards – although still no idea where...

I’ve made progress in my mission to find a way out of this room,
A little while ago I found this door – it was sealed tight with no way inside....
Knowing that I’ve found a door, leads me to progress further to get my way out.
(...But I wondered what was behind the door...)

Roxanne - Because I said so

Stacie’s hands were quivering above the black shadowy globe, which she had just found and was discovering until...  a mysterious voice crept upon her ears, drawing her towards the globe’s misty atmosphere.
‘’Stacieeeee.’’ Whispered an unknown voice...
‘’Who’s there?" she yelled, as she jumped out of her seat – almost knocking her coffee mug over.

The voice spoke again, but louder, clearer‘’Listen to me!’’ demanded the voice.
Stacie knew something was going on... maybe some dark magic...
‘’Why should I? she boasted in a reaction of fear and defence.
‘’...Because I said so.... the world’s in your hands.... DON’T disappoint it...’’
