#40 Joshua

There was once a boy named Joshua. He was a very kind boy that loved doing homework. He was on his laptop doing his Hundred Word Challenge when a thought flew into his head. He then shut down his laptop and went down stairs for his tea.
“Have you finished your homework?” his mum asked gently.
“No,” said Joshua.
“Why not?”
But I'm afraid that it’s the last one,” he said, “I really want to keep doing them.”
“Well,” said his mum, “Why don’t you send a message on your laptop or print a message off to your teacher that you will do extra homework.
“Thank you.”

…but that’s what happens in Brazil when…by Joshua

I was walking down the street with broken pavement and the curbs with jagged edges. All the bars were full and all the shops were deserted. I entered the nearest pub. There was no service anywhere to be found. There was so much noise and so many people up out of their seats having a pint of beer and eating so much food. The atmosphere was ecstatic. But that's what happens in Brazil when they hold the golden world cup.I decided to leave that pub and go some place else. Every where I went the pubs were too full and I could get no service anywhere.

100WC#36 by Joshua

This picture again is brilliant and is more imaginative than the previous one. It reminds me of an oil leak on a road. I love how they have used the white, smooth filling of the chocolate egg to act as the oil. It looks really realistic with the orange and white cones surrounding the oil spillage. I also love how she has put this on a concrete floor so it looks like it is actually on the road. The picture is so special and looks so hard to set up but it was obviously worth it. It is so clever.

100Wc#35 by Joshua

I once went to meet my friend in his house that had a huge metal gateway that led to a path. His house was very cold and dull. It had about five chimneys and had six rooms in total. It was still a friendly place because his parents were extremely welcoming. The main problem was that there was a black pipe sticking out of a wall and the water was not running quite right. So I decided to help my friends’ parents and find out what the problem was. However, I had know idea what was about to come my way...

…but where could I go…by Joshua

I once woke up in a dark wood. At first I thought how I got there. But then I realized that was the least of my worries. I looked left, right back forward, but where could I go. I first travelled forward. It took me at least 2 hours to realise that this was the incorrect path. I then decided to turn right. I carried on until I realised this was, also, the incorrect path. So I turned left and set of. After 2 hours I came out of the wood. But what greeted me was not what I expected.

Why Lucy needs to go to school by Joshua

Dear world leaders,
I am writing to tell you that everybody has a right to go to school in this world. You are not gaining or losing anything by it so why? Why are you not letting girls like Lucy go to school? If you want to make the world a better place than you need to let people go to school otherwise nobody is going to like you until you die. So let people go to school and get some education. Look at these people. You can’t do this. Just let them go to school. I beg you.

Some of the words sounded like a foreign language by Joshua

There was once an explorer named Sir James Sherwood. He had had many great adventures but non greater than this one. His mission was to find a scroll and give it to a museum. He had been searching for weeks but then, one day he had found the tomb where the scroll was hidden. He opened the huge chamber door and there it was. He picked it up and when he unravelled the scroll there was a voice speaking or reading the scroll. Some of the words sounded like a foreign language. He finally understood. It was some warning but the great explorer ignored it and carried on.

100WC#31 by Joshua

When I look at this picture I see a worker bee right next to a set of dolls. It might be that the bee wanted to take part in a play. I got this idea from the doll on the left hand side. He is carrying what looks like a light, like you would see on a film set when the film would be in the making. Or it could be an investigation site because the two men are wearing strange suits and the man on the left also has a camera. Some people might find this picture quite funny!

… and when I opened the cupboard door …by Joshua

In my home town there was a legend that there was a cupboard somewhere in the high mountains that contained a thousand diamonds.
One day I went looking for this mysteries item. I packed my back pack and set of. I had reached the mountain base when I saw something at the top shining bright. I climbed as fast as possible until I reached the top and I saw it. The cupboard was just there in front of me made out of pure gold and when I opened the cupboard door I was even more pleased when I saw the 1000 diamonds just like the legend said.

…but I couldn't find the egg…, by Joshua

It was Easter. My family had gathered to look for one Easter egg somewhere in our house. Just then there was a knock. We saw a man in the door. All he said was, “You must find the egg.” Then he disappeared. We ignored him and carried on. After an hour there was another knock. It was the man again. All he said was, “Congratulations!” and shook my hand.
But I couldn't find the egg,” I said.
“I know,” he said, "you were not supposed to, it was a prank,” and then as quick as the wind, he was gone.
Everybody was truly and utterly gobsmacked.

I thought I had enough time by Joshua

It had come when the clocks went forward. There was only one person that had forgotten. There was a boy named Caleb. He had this test and he had to practice the test for homework. He wanted to do it but he forgot about the clocks. It had to be in on computer at 2am. It could be no more less. He went home and set his alarm to 2am. He then sent in his work. He went to school the next day and was shocked when the teacher said about the clocks. “I thought I had enough time.”

Night Zoo Keeper by Joshua

I would be a good night zoo keeper because I am not afraid of the dark and I absolutely hate evil. I love nature and I will not let any sort of monsters damage the environment or any of its creatures. I will watch the night zoo gates at all times and I will ignore all distractions around me until it is safe for the animals to let me leave them and for them to do their own thing. I love animals and I do not want them to suffer just because some monsters are coming round and scaring them.

…look up! Can you see…by Joshua

I was walking down a small alleyway when I came across a tiny door on one side of the wall. There was a lock where it looked like you needed a key. I looked around and I saw it, the key to the door. But then I felt a hand grab my arm. He said as quickly as he came “Stop, look up! Can you see that?” He quickly pointed upwards to the top of the door frame. It said KEEP OUT. IF YOU ENTER YOU WILL ONLY FIND DEATH! BEWARE. He ignored the sign and entered. But he faced his worst nightmare. BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!

...but when she lifted the lid... by Joshua

One day there lived a girl named Grace. She was very poor but very happy. She lived in a small cottage on the edge of London. One day she went up in her old loft to see if there was anything worth selling. She came across a brown dusty chest, she went over to take a closer look. When she went over and it seemed to be very dull, but when she lifted the lid she found that there was a million pounds inside and became a millionaire. She was absolutely gobsmacked. She then bought a bigger house and got to meet Queen Elizabeth the second.

Jack and the Beanstalk by Joshua

There was once a boy named Jack. He lived in a hut on the edge of forest on his own. He was poor, so one day he went to sell his cow for some money. He found a man who wanted the cow so he sold it. When he got home he found there was only a bean and threw it out of the window.

Next morning, he woke up and found that there was a bean stalk outside. He looked up and found that there were giants sliding down. He then got his chainsaw and cut it down.

Joshua #23

One day I was in the park on the field sitting on a small, dull bench dreaming. Then, the whole ground started to shake. At first I thought that it might be an earthquake but then a huge drill thing rose to the surface without warning. It then lowered to look at the ground and dived down to the ground pushing through the earth as if it was water. I was amazed at what I had just seen. Then I said that I must be dreaming. I rubbed my eyes and looked. I was in my room in bed. It was just a dream.

Joshua #21

Me and my friends were playing a game one day and then I came up with interesting question.
“How do flames make smoke?”
At first everybody thought that I had gone a bit mad but then they thought about it and then wondered the same thing. So we all decided to, each day after school come to private meetings. We did it over and over again but we still could not find the answer. So then we decided to do this a bit wider spread. Meetings were held across the country to find an answer but still we could not get an answer. So in the end we gave up.

Joshua #20

One day me and my family decided to go to the beach for a nice family day out. So we all got ready to set of. We got money, to buy some food and a bucket and spade. We all set off to the beach. We got to the life boat station but all we could see was water, in fact we couldn't even see the sand. We were all disappointed and started the long journey home. When we arrived home we all thought about what to do for the rest of the day. We decided to play a nice game of tumbling monkeys. It was great fun.

Joshua #19

Once in a zoo there lived a gorilla named Travis. There was however something different about Travis. He was very different from other gorillas because he was bright pink. Every day the same man with a grand bicycle came round and laughed at him. Travis always felt the same, miserable and sad. The man wasn't the only one making fun of him. All the other gorillas started teasing him. The children who came to the zoo never came to his cage because he was pink. But there was one gorilla that never laughed at him or called him names and he was called Freddie.

Joshua 100WC#18

When I look at this boring picture of a garden shed I see many amazing things. For example, the reflections of the windows look like eyes staring right at me with amazement. Then when you look on the far left window you see a slight reflection from the sun. It looks a bit like a ghost of a snake on the window. Then when you look at all the windows you see the long tail of the snake and when look at those pink shoes its like the snake is wearing them on his tail. That is what I see.
