… I was so cross that … by Madi

My grading was here, going for brown belt! I knew it was going to be extremely hard but the only thing I can do is my best.
Nervously, I walked in with my sister, [who was going for purple belt black stripe] and warmed up cautiously, making sure I didn’t hurt anything - or anyone!

Then, it was our turn. We started to do exercises and punches which were all going great. But then, something went wrong. Unfortunately, we got up to combinations - on the pads - and I did it wrong. I was so cross that I nearly walked out.

The Museum by Madi

Museums are normal, right? They had: cool objects, pictures, information, normal things. Well, this was no ordinary museum... It seemed to be haunted!

This is my story:

Whistling birds were out, the sun was shining and myself, and my friend [Jackie] were on our mountain bikes, zooming through the forest. It was at that very moment - that still creeps us out to this day - that a shock made Jackie nearly faint. [She looked terrified!] I don’t really want to describe it to you but one thing, don’t go inside it; you may just shock yourself and pass out!

…empty. What a surprise!…, Madi

The clock struck... “Ugghhh!” sighed Isabel; time to do the boring laundry. Isabel hated doing the laundry. What about all of the other things she could have done instead of waiting for the clothes to be ready. Things like: going to a friend’s; bike outside; go for a walk down to the shop. Well, anyway... Isabel strolled up, [as slow as a slimy slug] and looked inside the washing machine; she looked as though she had just knocked herself out! “It’s empty. What a surprise!” Her stupid mum played a trick on her and made her wait for nothing. “Ahhhhh!”

…the vinegar was too sharp…, Madi

I got out my can of mushy peas and opened them with a tin-opener. Grabbed out the vinegar and accidentally poured it in! I had a taste because I didn’t know if it was alright or not... Ewe! The vinegar was too sharp. The taste was awful, and my mouth tingled as though it had just been electrocuted or something. Then, I ran to the bathroom and rinsed my mouth out with water until the pain went away. It took a few mouthfuls off water, but it finally disappeared. A few moments later I went downstairs and got another can!

… it was completely out of tune…, Madi S

In my closet was a box. It had a sign... BROKEN INSTRUMENT! Written in bold, black letters. I was incredibly curious about it and so I grabbed it out cautiously. I realised that if I got my tool box out and used some of them it would be all fixed. It took a bit of work - but I did it. Once I packed my tools away, I tried it out. For some odd reason it was completely out of tune. I told my mother about everything and she said she could do nothing. It just sat in my room; lonely.

Statues by Madi

Sydney looked hot. More than you could ever imagine.
In my book, ‘The story of Sydney’ was a very bizarre picture. They looked like they were Chinese or something; they were different heights and different colours.! Some were men and some were ladies. I thought they were like Russian dolls! It seemed as though they were there for a reason, maybe a landmark. People were stood around them, taking pictures. I wondered if there was anything beneath or inside them. In the distance was a building, the opera house, it looked fascinating. I hope I can go there one day.

… but how could she just disappear…, by Madi

We were in the deep, dark, gloomy woods; so many paths to choose from. We just couldn’t decide. It was just at this very moment we realized Stephanie had gone, “But how could she just disappear,” We all shrieked. One went this way; one went that way. Nowhere to be seen. Terrified. I stopped. No one could see her. Martin checked the time on his phone, it was 16:59. The BLOOD MOON! Any moment now the clouds would part. 5 seconds had passed, “Here we go...” The clouds separated; there she was stood on the hill opposite the moon-lit lake.

Madi - The light blinded him

The sun began to shine above the horizon, a golden glaze arising from the bottom of nowhere. He woke up, stretching, yawning and opening his eyes widely. The boy wandered to his curtains - a bit like a zombie - and opened them as fast as lightning... the light blinded him. It was like he just got a black eye. He grabbed hold of his face and fell back onto his bed, suddenly, “Aaaaarrrggghhhhhh!” the boy screamed as loud as he could. The hand slowly came off his face and he went to his mirror; nothing more happened...

The picture by Madi

I was looking online for some weird pictures to draw. They were all crazy but this certain one caught my eye as quick as a flash. It was extraordinary. Christmas themed too!
On the left side of the picture was a lightbulb, blue, with a few marks. Also surrounded with three glistening stars.
On the right side of the picture was an eye; almost like a drawn eye. It looked like it had been drawn with a blue felt-tip pen.
In the middle was a piece of mistletoe and a red, spotty present. I decided to draw it. Magical.

Madi - but they were exhausted

It was an ordinary day, sat on the couch, and I was watching the TV. I was watching the show, ‘I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!’ It was quite extraordinary because they were doing this challenge but they were exhausted. I mean, I would never carry on doing a challenge if I was exhausted! Anyway, the challenge was to go in a boat full of deadly beasts, [filled with water] and get 11 stars. It looked very scary, but they had to do it if they wanted to give food to the camp down in the jungle.

We seemed to be on the television by Madi

Me and my friend, who was 11 years old like me, were so confused, we seemed to be on the television! There was no reason whatsoever to why, or even how. It was very puzzling, it said that we had taken down an alligator, which I couldn’t do at all, even with a friend. We would have had to have a whole big group- and experts- to take down a vicious creature like that. I mean to be honest, I am quite happy that we were now kind of famous, but who would have told them such nonsense?

BIKE TREE! by Madi

Skies were blue, trees were calm, when all of a sudden, I found a bike in a tree! It looked a bit like a monument at first, but the wheels were rusty and the bell was apart from the bike. It was a child's bike, but why was it in a tree? It was very puzzling because it was always sat there and I would have thought it would have fallen, I guess not! I bet scientists will know the behind the scenes of what I now call the BIKE TREE! One important question, how long had it been there?

Madi - Bricks Gorilla Yellow Running Pretty,

Yellow bricks crashed to the ground as a dark coloured, angry gorilla slammed into the old lady's house ferociously, tearing it to nothing more than a pile of trash! The terrified woman ran for her life as she was so scared because she was just relaxing and the colossal attack terrified her. She didn’t know what to do as she didn’t have a house anymore. It was very pretty too! She was incredibly quick even though she was 93. Running like lightning, she turned around and the huge, black gorilla was just seconds behind her. What a poor old lady...

Madison - because I said so

“Why?” asked Rebecca. She was always asking the same question over and over again and again, “Because I said so,” replied Mum. That was always the answer to every single question asked by Rebecca towards her bossy, lazy Mum.
“I never get a day off!” exclaimed the tired girl, she was always doing everything and never got to rest until 10.00. (That’s when she had got to go to bed!) It was enough; Rebecca decided to go and get a career as she wouldn't want to do this all her life so that's what she did, she was finally free...

Ladybirds by Madi

Minute, spotty ladybugs fighting for their lives. Run! The Dark Lord, full of power, pulls out his tiny, see through lifesaver and points it at the poor creatures sprinting over the colossal rocks. What was going to happen to these little bugs? Nobody knew. It was like mayhem! The Dark Lord is very strange, he once used to be a great guy but for some unknown reason he has come out as a demon! He loves to kill animals but was it his job! Maybe somewhere unknown there’s a humongous mansion full of evil animal slaughterers. Will we ever know?

Bath Fighter Danced Orange Clumsily by Madi

Bath time Jasmine,” shouted mum.
Jasmine was too interested making a dance on her bright orange carpet so she didn’t listen.
Mum repeated herself again, “Jasmine, bath now!”
She listened that time and danced to the bathroom. Then she turned the tap on and clumsily put it on cold instead of warm, she was silly!
Seconds later, Jasmine - who was obsessed with the song, ‘I am a fighter’- jumped in the normal white bath and chilled. She carefully grabbed her phone and settled down.
“Are you in?” questioned mum.
Jasmine answered, Yes.”
Without realizing, she was in there for hours...

…it reminded me of a time when… by Madi S

It reminded me of a time when I was younger and was playing on a bouncy castle. I had looked in my colossal wardrobe and found a very fascinating picture of what looked like a bouncy castle, which had me on a chair with a coloured plaster cast on my broken ankle. I can remember that a few years ago I had been playing on a bouncy castle and had accidentally fallen off really painfully and was rushed to hospital to have a terrible operation to fix me up. It was very painful at first but it gradually became calmer.

..but it seemed to be going backwards.......by Madi

In the distance, was a haunted looking house, that seemed like it was abandoned. I was with my best friends and we crept closer and closer. I got scared and told my friends that we should head home but they refused and kept tip-toeing towards the dark scene of horror. We stumbled closer and opened the dark, dusty gate before walking nervously through the entrance of the weird house. My friends led me into the part that looked like the living room and then I caught sight of a clock which was rotten, but it seemed to be going backwards.......

Teacher Alligator Mauve Climbed Tricky, by Madi

One ordinary, sunny afternoon my wonderful teacher let us all out to break as we had just finished a really hard test. Minutes later, after I had started running around with freedom, all of a sudden, I caught sight of a mauve alligator that had just climbed a really rough, brown wall and it had got stuck! I knew it would be tricky for the slightly puzzled alligator to get out of what seemed a terrible situation but I thought that it would bite me if I went and helped it. So off I went to find my amazing teacher...

Hands by Madi

Dark grey hands twisted together in a colossal town filled with lots of people, distracting them from their glorious day but fascinating them with the enormous scene.  Its hands look so real that the wrinkles on the palms were created! I don’t know whose they are but I'm guessing they might be a giant’s! I think they are holding on to a very twisty huge rope which looks as thick as a dark brown tree trunk. You can see the joints of the huge hand but the skin is incredibly rough just like a dark coloured painted room. It's amazing!
