It had been raining all morning by Maddie

Guess what I had woken up to today? Rain. It had been raining all morning when I finally got up. It was miserable like it always is here in England! The sun rarely comes out especially living by the sea. The sea breeze is so annoying because it's always COLD!! A lot of the time I wonder what it feels like living all the time in a really hot country! But, I would probably miss the seasons because I bet in the winter in L.A. it would only drop a few degrees and you might not even feel the difference!

…but I didn’t understand the instructions… by Maddie

Earlier on today, I had to do my homework which was sooooo hard!!! I even had to bring my dumb mum to try and help me. That didn’t work. I knew what you had to do but I didn’t understand the instructions. Why do I have to do it anyway? It's all just stupid stuff which wasted half a day of my life which I will never get back again. Thanks, teachers!! Anyway, now I have finally finished and I ran to the freezer and got a chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream with a flake, smarties and a cone.

SHOUTED CRIMSON MISTY FRANTICALLY GRAVE by Maddie

One sad afternoon, I went to visit my brother's grave when I heard a noise. At first, I didn’t think of it much but I wish I had. So, I frantically shouted to it to be quiet but it never stopped. I looked up at the crimson misty sky which looked like it was going to be a full moon. I didn’t know what to do so I ran as fast as I could all the way home.
After I reached home I looked around but nobody was in. Where had they gone? AAAHHHHHH!. I heard footsteps coming towards me...

…but what if I was in charge?… by Maddie

One day at school, Maria and Georgie were talking about wanting to create a school but who would be in charge? Georgie said, "I could be in charge of our school and you can be deputy head!"
However, Maria didn’t want her to be it so she answered, "But, what if I was in charge? What about that!" Georgie had other plans she told Maria, "Why don’t I be a head teacher and you be a head teacher!"
"How is that going to work Georgie, I thought we were doing it together!"
"No, we are, two friends together always together!"...

Ladder Goldfish Flew Brown Slowly by Maddie

A goldfish was slowly swimming around its bowl when it thought about why it couldn’t fly. So, this goldfish decided to try it. It spotted a ladder nearby and tried to jump onto it; as soon as it did, the goldfish realised that it had three seconds until it was going to fall off. Which meant it had to be quick. It flew across the room from the ladder to the brown kitchen worktop. It managed to land successfully. But, when its human owner walked in she witnessed the goldfish dying in front of her. The owner burst into tears.

Twig Men by Maddie

One late afternoon, the twig men chief screamed at the top of his voice to his followers, "We are under attack!"
The chief and his team ran to the battle field to fight the enemy. The enemy were branches that had fallen off the trees; they liked to eat anything in their sight. The twig men knew it was going to be hard but they were never going to give up. They fought for what seemed hours; punching, kicking and doing ninja moves. In the end all that was left on the field was a huge pile of twigs.

The statues by Maddie

The family were trying to decide which restaurant they want to eat at.
"There are; Bill's around the corner, Nando's across the road but behind us there's a Pizza Express." explained the father to his wife and daughter.
A few hours passed and they still hadn't decided but eventually the daughter tried to move but noticed they were all stuck to the pavement.
"AHHH!!" shouted the parents.
They were mortified and started trying to pull themselves free but they couldn't. They realised that they'd taken too long to decide and turned in to stone statues. What a strange thing!

Red Before Snake Clock Cycled, by Maddie

A man was shopping in a charity shop and saw a marvellous red clock. Even though it was broken he bought it. Once he’d cycled home, before he tried to fix the clock, he stared at it. He was sure he could see something slithering inside. He looked at it more closely and saw it....a snake! All of a sudden, it slithered out of the clock and wrapped itself around his head. In a flash he was on the floor with a scratch down his face. The snake quickly slithered away. The man knew no one would ever believe him!

The Hand by Madeleine

President T Donald had something important to do. He was going to change all his enemies into hands featuring the enemies faces. The President decided he would use them to spy on the different countries. One night he got so annoyed with his wife he zapped her and turned her into a massive hand. The wife couldn’t handle it anymore, so she started running but he zapped her again. Now she fell under his control and she ended up spying on the United Kingdom. It worked! He carried on zapping his enemies until he had all the world under control.

…the tiger was blocking our escape…by Madeleine

Freddie and I went on a trip to the zoo. We went everywhere: to the different cafes and gift shops and to see all the animals such as monkeys, fish, pigs, gorillas, orangutans, giraffes, elephants, tigers and lions. When we got to the penguins we noticed that the zoo was closed so we were all alone. All of a sudden, the animals managed to escape and ran everywhere chasing us, we were very scared so we started to run to the entrance. As we were running, a tiger came and jumped in our path, the tiger was blocking our escape!

The Statue by Maddie

One stormy night, a monk was sat on a bench outside the town. He was all alone that night wondering if he would actually find true love. All of a sudden, a cackle sound came behind him, he quickly jumped off the bench and looked behind and saw nothing. He was intrigued to know what it was, so he followed the sound into the heart of the woods. There he was all alone in the woods and could see nothing. An evil witch suddenly popped up behind him and turned him into stone. The statue has been there ever since.

Robert the Robber by Maddie

Robert, a robber, always referred to himself as the greatest villain of all time even though he was only ten. His brother, who was called Robin, also wanted to be a robber with Robert, so they became a group to get back at their older brother Jamie [ who was 13].

A few weeks later, they decided it was time, everything was in place; ready to steal Jamie's Lego, which seemed weird but it hurt when it got thrown at them. When they got the Lego from Jamie's room, Robin asked Robert, "But where would we hide it all? "

Ghosts by Maddie

In the run up to Christmas some strange things were happening in Newcastle. There were people rushing around but there were also ghosts! You might think that ghosts aren't real, but think again. These strange ghouls keep popping up everywhere, it is believed that they appear from a basement on Nithdale Close. Do not worry; they are not dangerous, except for one who is Maggie Balder. If you see Maggie she looks like this: she has a red jacket and a black shirt on, she also has black ripped jeans and red high tops. Remember you can't see her properly!

flame, swimming, celebrated, white, tomorrow by Maddie

Tomorrow the sky will be filled with huge orange, white, red and blue flames; that’s because it's going to be Bonfire Night. It is celebrated because Guy Fawkes and others planned to blow up the Houses of Parliament by placing lots of gun powder under the great building. To get the gun powder barrels without being discovered probably involved swimming in the Thames and the smelly sewers... Luckily their plan failed and they were caught. He joined the team on 20th May 1604; he was captured 5th November 1605. Guy Fawkes penalty was to be hung, drawn and quartered. Ouch!!

As the door slammed, I knew by Maddie

Last year on Friday 13th I was left alone in my cosy bungalow. Earlier on that day I knew my parents were going out, but I didn't know I was going to be left on my own as I thought someone was coming round to baby sit me. Obviously, not! Later, at about 9:30pm, things were getting out of hand because shadows kept appearing everywhere and it kept making seriously frightening sounds. Then I heard knocking from the kitchen. So, I crept down the hallway quietly, then as the door slammed, I knew I needed to get out and fast....

The professor's dream by Maddie

The bedroom was pitch-black. Mrs. Gugglespot realised that the professor was having a difficult night's sleep. He twisted and turned until the duvet was all his.
Mrs. Gugglespot could hear him mutter in his sleep saying"Crocodile purple, purple crocodile I made …" Hrepeated that over and over again.
Mrs. Gugglespot knew she would have to try and wake him up gently. Quietly, she began to nudge and poke him to see if he would wake but too late! He leapt out of bed and looked at his wife all he saw was a purple crocodile beside him...

"…but I’m afraid it’s the last one," he said… Maddie

It was 6am on Sunday morning 3 days before Christmas and the whole of England ran out of food but one little house in the middle of nowhere had food. The man had food because he owned a farm with thousands and thousands of animals he had 3500 cows and calves, 1500 chickens and chicks, 4500 pigs and 3560 sheep and lambs. When everyone had found out they all drove to his house and queued went all the way down the street for a couple of miles then stopped. The people kept banging on the door and woke the man up he opened the door and gave every one a cow,
“but I’m afraid it’s the last one," he said.

“So we need food!”

...but it was far too hot... by Maddie

I woke up in the morning got ready for school then went down stairs to get my breakfast then suddenly the living room TV turned on and dragged me towards it I started to get a bit scared so I shouted my mum she shouted back, “Shut up its only quarter past 7!!!!!” The channel it turned on was the weather I sighed because I hate watching the news when it said Skegness and London were having a heat wave which was going to last for 5 months.

When I arrived at school Sophia asked if we could play tig but it was far too hot so I said no.

Maddie - X marks the spot

“Hello and welcome to X marks the spot and today we are going to be discussing the general election,” shouted Bob the TV presenter loudly.

“What’s the general election, mum?” I asked.
“The general election is where people over 18 vote for their new prime-minister and the parties like the labour party and other parties like that. The more people they have in their teams the more chance they've got to win,” replied Mum.
“Wow are you going to vote Mum?” I asked.
“Yes I think so,“ answered Mum.
“cool, who are you going to vote for,” I asked.
“I’m not sure yet,” Mum replied.

As the leaves rustled by Maddie

I was walking down the street on cold wet morning when I was going to see my little baby sister Niamh. when there was a strong gust of wind pushing me forward so I hid behind the bus stop and took shelter five minutes later the wind had stopped so I went out of the bus stop but as the leaves rustled a small fox cub came out of the bush and started rubbing on my leg so I picked the cold cub up and took it to a nice warm animal shelter where it got a little bed to sleep in and a nice cosy blanket.
