… I was so cross that … by Jessica

It was Monday morning, the worst day of the week, because I have PE with Mr Run - I HATE him-. As I was getting ready for the dreaded day ahead, I couldn’t find my school shirt. I looked under my bed, in my draws and even my swimming bag. Of course it wasn’t there so I had to go down stairs and ask mum. “Mum where’s my...”
I paused for a second and there was my school shirt, not white but PINK! I was so cross that I screamed, “WHY IS MY SHIRT PINK!”
What were we going to do?

The Cinema by Jessica

After a busy day working long hours in the old, brick walled cinema I stood at the bottom of the chocolate stairs and stared at the dusty glass chandelier. All I could think of was getting home into my pyjamas and laying in my bed watching tv with a hot chocolate. I could smell the delicious scent of the candy bar, as I stood gormlessly staring at the chandelier. As I sighed with relief that my shift was over for the night, I got my bag, switched off all the lights, locked the door and started to walk home.

…empty. What a surprise!…, Jessica

The room was completely empty. What a surprise! Not a sound broke though the silence. Everything had gone, no chairs, no photos, no toys not even a curtain at the window, just a lonely spider crawling down the wall. Something was very wrong about this room, it felt cold and misty. As I walked slowly into the room, I could smell the rust from the cold radiator which had been leaking over the past year. A cold shiver ran through my spine as I took a deep breath of the rusty air. “BANG!” the door slammed shut...
Who was that???

RED LADDER SINKING COINS PAVEMENT by Jessica

As I laid in my bed, I could hear my aggravating mum shouting me to get up. I just ignored her as usual. I couldn’t stop thinking about the dream I had on Saturday night, it was rather peculiar. It included me wearing a red dress trying to walk down the pavement but all I was doing was sinking. I soon realised my pockets were full of coins. Ahead, I could see a ladder, I knew I had to get to it to climb out. I reached the ladder, that’s when I heard mum shouting me to get up!

…the vinegar was too sharp…by Jessica

As we sat down for tea, mum said, “Don’t forget the salt and vinegar, it goes really well with fish and chips.” We had spent all day peeling the potatoes and cooking the fish. After I had set the table, I sat down and poured the vinegar onto my chips and started to eat my food. I soon realised I may have put a bit too much vinegar on. The vinegar was too sharp. I quickly got a glass of water and gulped it down. That tasted much better than vinegar.

Jessica: FRINGE EGGS BLACK WASHED FLICKERING

After mum and I had washed our black car, we had to go to the shops to buy some eggs. On the way back from the shops, mum mentioned we need to make a hair appointment to get a haircut as my fringe is getting too long.
Once back home we started to make a chocolate cake, once the cake was in the oven we sat down to relax. Mum lit a scented candle. We sat together on the sofa and watched the candle as it was flickering as if it was dancing. We could not wait for the cake.

… but how could she just disappear…, by Jessica

Thank goodness it’s Friday night. My cousin has just arrived for a sleepover we have been planning for weeks. Firstly, we decided to make some slime. We went upstairs to my bedroom to get the ingredients we need for slime. We set everything out to see if we had forgotten anything. “The glue,” I said. I ran back upstairs, got the glue and ran back down. She was gone. But how could she disappear? I looked under the table, she wasn’t there. I looked in the cupboard, she wasn’t there either. Where could she be. It’s a mystery.

Bicycle Empty Bubbles Fired Pink, by Jessica

"Beep, beep, beep!" my alarm went off. The dreaded time. I rolled out of bed like a sloth. Time to get ready for the day ahead. My tummy was empty. After breakfast I headed out to the garage. After about fifteen minutes of rummaging through the rubbish we had collected over the years. I found a bicycle I had never seen before. I took it out onto the drive to take a look at it. On the handle bars was a red button "BANG!" It fired out pink bubbles from the back of it. Wow this is absolutely amazing.

Jessica S - The light blinded him

It was the first day back after the Christmas holiday. Mrs Wellsted had organised a year six staff meeting. Mr Ball offered to make coffee for everyone. Ten minutes had passed and Mr Ball still hadn’t returned with the coffee. Everybody wondered where he was, he wasn’t in the staff room or the hall. In the distance they could hear a banging. Mrs Wellsted said, “I think I know where he is.” She grabbed her torch and headed over to the cupboard. She carefully opened the door and the light blinded him. Mr Ball said, “Thank goodness you found me.”

Christmas Picture by Jessica

As Christmas is around the corner baubles are being put on the tree. Stars are shining bright and presents are being wrapped. It’s a busy time of year for everyone. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a big red box with blue ribbon around it, I really hope it’s for me.
While my mum was outside picking fresh holly, I took a quick peek to see who it was for. The big gold gift tag said, ‘To Jessica S, Merry Christmas from ?’
I can’t wait to open this gift on Christmas morning. What could it be?

We seemed to be on the television by Jessica

It was a Friday night and I had just got home from a hard, stressful week at school. I threw my bag on the floor and my mum said, “Have you got any homework?”
“Yes” I said with a sigh. “It’s a hundred-word challenge.”
“What’s the phrase?”
We seemed to be on the television…” I said.
Mum gasped, “Oh my goodness, how are you going to do that?”
I said, “I really don’t know, maybe one day I will be on the tv and be really famous.”
“I wish,” mum chuckled. “We are both famous in my eyes.”

The bike by Jessica

Walking home from school, my friend and I decided to go a different way home. As we turned the corner my friend stopped and said, “That looks like a bike stuck in the tree.” We could see the bike was very rusty and had been there for a long while, and we both said, “I wonder where the rider is?”
We looked around the tree under the leaves and debris. Fortunately, we didn't find anything else. Clearly there was nothing that we could do other than take a photo to show our mums and head home.

Jessica - Bricks Gorilla Yellow Running Pretty

My cousin has a toy box filled with her old yellow bricks. We decided to build a pretty tower with them. We both got bored after a while so I lay on the sofa and read a book while she went outside to play.
Twenty minutes later, she came running back inside like a hurricane, “I just saw a gorilla!"
I started laughing.
"Tt's in the bush munching on the leaves."
“Gorillas only live in zoos and the wild not in bushes in people's gardens.”
"I'm being honest there was a gorilla."
"Or was it your immense imagination?"

Jessica - …I wondered what was behind the door…

On the night of Friday the thirteenth, weird things started to happen. As the day came to an end, I started to get ready for bed. At half eight, I crawled into bed and fell asleep. The hand on the old clock struck three - the witching hour - I shot up in bed as I heard a loud, “BANG!” I thought it was just my bedroom door but it wasn’t. I cautiously got out of bed, it sounded like it was coming from the attic. I wondered what was behind the door. I slowly opened the door and screamed, “HELP ME!”

Jessica - Because I said so

One Halloween me and my friend went trick or treating on our own for the first time. Feeling scared and worried, we both took a deep breath and said, "We will be ok," not knowing what was going to happen next. After we had collected a few mouth-watering sweets we decided to go to one more house and then go home. "Knock, knock!" the old rusty door slowly opened, an old woman said in a nasty tone, "Go away little people."
"Why?" we said in a scared voice.
The old lady lent over and whispered, "Because I said so."

Bath Fighter Danced Orange Clumsily by Jessica

On the way to school the sky was a mixture of colours including orange, red and yellow. Zooming across the sky was a fighter jet.
When I arrived at school, everybody was wondering where Miss Johnson was. Miss Chapman came through the door like a hurricane shouting, ''Nobody panic, Miss Johnson will be here soon!''
Soon after that, Miss Johnson stormed through the door and said, ''Sorry I'm late I was having a bath!'' She danced through the classroom clumsily tripping over pens, rulers and my lunch which went everywhere. I was fuming; I didn't have any lunch to eat.

…it reminded me of a time when…by Jessica

One Monday evening I was walking home alone and the wind started to pick up. It got stronger and stronger every second. It reminded me of a time when I was on holiday in Spain and I had just got off the plane in the airport and the wind was really strong. I thought it was going to be sunny and hot but I was wrong. I was really hoping to sunbathe at the pool and go swimming but that definitely was not going to happen at this rate. Soon after that it started to rain (absolutely poured it down)

Statues by Jessica S

Standing still were three stone statues which looked like a horse, goat and bull. Behind them were some trimmed green bushes which could lead to a forest. Nobody knows why they are there it is all an unknown secret. The one on the right looked like a goat. He had a tilted head with sharp, pointy curved horns. The one in the middle looked like a horse. It had pointy ears and a pointy nose. The one on the left looked like a bull. He had straight ears and pointy horns. All three looked like they were all once white.
