…but I didn’t understand the instructions… by Ella

It was a normal day like any other but summer was here, summer was my favourite time of the year. It meant no homework. I would just sit watching TV all day long and only eat junk food. Sometimes I would often imagine I was in a TV show called Pirate madness and all the pirates would speak with funny accents. My hero Captain Blackboot told me one day to find the old treasured pirates loot on the Stolen Island , but I didn’t understand the instructions so I sailed off all on my own following the old treasure map.

SHOUTED CRIMSON MISTY FRANTICALLY GRAVE by Ella

"Hurry up!" Shouted Jamie.
"I'm coming. " answered Lucy his little sister, as she ran to catch him up. They pushed with all their might to open the crimson, rusty gate. Thousands upon thousands of tilting slabs of slate covered every inch of the grass. "They're grave stones," Lucy announced as she dragged her tiny hand along the rough stones. The gravel scuffed the bottom of her shoes. The ground opened as if it was about to swallow her up. In a second she was gone. Frantically, Jamie stood there. Nothing was in the misty air, another grave stone appeared.

The Legs by Ella

I was in the wood when it all started, how I disappeared. My Grandpa would tell me strange tales about unrealistic things. He told me that if you ever litter in a forest the trees would come alive and gobble you up. Obviously, I didn’t believe him, so I ventured out into the nearest forest with my litter. I unclenched my fingers as I released the wrapper. Suddenly there was a sound- BOOM! on a continuous repeat. Thick legs sprouted from the tree trunks. Thin branches swept me from my feet. Twigs and vines wrapped around me. I was gone.

Ladder Goldfish Flew Brown Slowly by Ella

It was Wednesday. Slowly, the week seemed to pass by. "There is nothing to do!" I sighed as I turned to look out of the window. There was a small brown bird, it flew on to the rooftop. I decided it might be fun to follow it. As quick as I could, I got my coat and snow boots on and scrambled to the door. The bird landed on a frozen pond. In it was a goldfish, its metallic scales shimmered in the light. I followed it again, it stopped at the garden ladder that was covered in snow.

In the forest by Ella

In the forest there are many strange things, people sometimes disappear. The trees make faces and move behind your back. The leaves scuttle around your feet without the wind. The vines grab your feet and pull you down, trying to take you under the ground. But whatever you do, don't call for help. The noise angers the trees, they turn into warriors and frighten you deeper into the forest. Branches, twisted into fingers, claw at your skin. You end up with cuts and bruises that never heal. As you flee in terror, you start to notice the tree warriors surrounding you.

...we were moving very fast... by Ella

We were in the car on our way to Scarborough for our holiday, we had travelled 50 miles on the highway when we started hearing sirens coming from behind us, flashes of blue and red caught my eye. Instantly, I turned my head to see out the window. A black car was racing towards us. Dad turned up the radio, whilst trying to drive faster away from the car, "Breaking News!" The radio announced, "A prisoner has escaped from jail."
No matter how fast we were driving, he was right behind us, we were moving very fast when there was a BANG!

… it came down the drainpipe…,by Ella

As you walk past the rusty school gates they yawn, opening their jaws to eat people into the school. As you're being swallowed, your eyes catch a glimpse of an old drainpipe that spits out goo to the playground, it looks like its thrown up black liquorice and makes a squelching sound. Rumour has it once a boy got pushed into it and was sucked up. His spirit was trapped inside the pipe where it was contained until the goodness was absorbed. The drainpipe released the goo that was left,it came down the drainpipe. Now, the school searches for its next victim.

Talking Statues by Ella

Statues, families of statues, all over town. Appearing one by one. If you stand and stare for long enough you can hear their whispers in the wind, all at once. It is hard to make out what they're saying. You can make out one of them is a child talking to a Mum, "Mum can they hear us?" it squeals.
"I don't know, honey." she replies in a hopeless voice.
They were trapped inside stone bodies and couldn't get out. People wondered and made up many interesting stories about them that would spread like a virus across the whole town.

Red Before Snake Clock Cycled, by Ella

I wrapped myself in my red blanket. I set my digital alarm clock which sat next to my bed. I rested on my pillow. As I closed my eyes shut, I could remember the things that me and my Dad used to do before him and Mum split up. This one time we all went to the zoo. In the picture I held a snake around me. But Dad burnt all the pictures of Mum. There's one picture that I managed to keep. It is of me smiling as I cycled my bike that Mum got me for my third birthday.

The hand by Ella

I love stories especially adventure stories about mad and wonderful creatures, that my dad tells me. Every night I slip into my cosy warm bed hanging on every word he tells me. He tells me to picture stories in my mind. I can see a bright blue cloudy sky and in it is a magical dream catcher shaped like a hand to catch dreams and bring them back to his own world from the real world. The only way to find his world is with your imagination. As I rest my head down my fantasies drift away into the dream catcher's hand.

…the tiger was blocking our escape…by Ella

Hello,

My name is John. You may know my father, Howard. He's a famous journalist that travels the globe looking for new species like the underwater tiger from Pakistan. Soon after he came home from his last trip, he disappeared. I found his journal from the year 2003. I gathered the family to read the journal and I read the first few lines aloud.
'I'm staying in Pakistan with the expedition. The underwater tiger is an amazing creature. We accidentally slipped into his pool of murky green water. We looked up and the fearsome tiger was blocking our escape.'

The Demon by Ella

Out in the wood the stone figure of a Demon still remains. Children tell tales when they hear the word Demon. One of the rumours had spread around the school in just one day. The rumour had it, he used to be a man who had stolen two sheep to feed his starving family, so the Lord of the land made him a Demon and turned him to stone. Many children are scared, and they should be as the curse was set for one thousand years, but no one knows when it was done and when it will undo and he will come back to life and seek his revenge....

My Treasured Possession by Ella

It shows me when I am sad, it shows me when I am happy. I can't tell when it changes, but when it does I'll know. Sometimes it is dark blue and sometimes bright red, it all depends on my mood. It's made out of round shiny silver metal that glitters in the sun. I wear it on my bony little finger, though it may slip. On my finger it will show my emotions. It sat there silently waiting for me, for it to be worn upon my finger. It suddenly changed colour and I bought it straight away.

The dog show by Ella

Today was a special day for all canines, the annual event where dogs of the neighbourhood dress up in human things to show off. One dog was wearing shoes and another was wearing a shiny back top hat. Sooner or later, every dog on the whole street was there at their secret location. There was no time to lose. They started the event by having a race. The referee was a giant, panting St Bernard with a small brown whistle around his neck and the dog was wearing glasses to see the finish line from across the other end of the field.

The professor and the crocodile by Ella

One day, down in the mad Professor's lab, he had a cunning plan for his next big potion. He travelled for miles searching in the undergrowth for rare plants when he stumbled across a gigantic crocodile with a twisted leg, making it difficult for it to walk. Suddenly, he saw that the crocodile was guarding the special plant needed for his new potion. He had a brain wave. Slowly, he started to move the crocodile. Within a split second, the crocodile snapped at his hand but luckily he had planned for this and had gathered purple leaves to feed it.

Scientists by Ella

Not long after the gigantic light bulb had smashed, highly radioactive gas began to leak from the shattered glass. The gas had shrunk the two scientists to the size of a tiny pea. The scientists had rushed to the crash to collect the microscopic balls that would be used to create marvellous cures for the sick and old. They had never failed before and now their jaw dropping experiments had totally backfired. One by one, they collected the precious balls and dragged them into the now miniscule cases, the two men slowly placed the cases on to the gigantic table.

…so, what lies ahead of… by Ella

She woke up to hear a whisper, "Lucy" it said again but this time louder. She sat up properly and checked her phone 12:01 she read out loud, grabbed her night gown, slipped on her slippers and went downstairs. She had heard it before but not this like this. It was a deep voice that was followed by an echo. Outside Lucy stood, “...so what lies ahead of...” the voice exclaimed. ‘What lies ahead of what?’ Looking down at her bracelet that was now beginning to glow revealing an outline of her beloved dead Grandmother, "Grandmother!" Lucy said softly.
