#40 by Lettia

Tina had a prized collection of coins. In fact, her group of pennies became so big, that she had over 10 000 circular objects. However, Tina’s collection had become so well – known to her town that many wanted them, and some went to many heights to receive. Tina went out with her parents to find more coins, but it wasn't so successful. “Oh well, I have enough anyway.” But when she came back, she saw that her prized possession had gone. Her mother sighed softly, “I'm sorry, but I'm afraid it’s the last one!”
She held up a glittering coin, when . . .

…but that’s what happens in Brazil when…by Lettia,

In Brazil, everyone loves football. Even if they are poor, they still make footballs out of plastic bags, and they kick old apple cores around as well! But that’s what happens in Brazil, when you love football!

For Brazilians to host the World Cup in 2014 must be a privilege for them. However, Brazil doesn’t look like such a strong place to hold it, because Brazil has flooded. Also, the football ground has had to be painted green because of the brown patches found on the pitch.

My friend (Paige), was running into my gateway. She was wearing a flowery necklace on top of her charcoal black hair. A large coat lay on her back (it was quite cold) and she came straight into our house. We agreed to meet on that day, and indeed we did.

It was very fun, we all had a great time, but within a couple of exciting hours, it was over. That’s right. All done. “Goodbye!” I exclaimed loudly, as I waved quickly to my Best Friend . . .  Paige!

…but where could I go…by Lettia

This term we are learning about wildlife and safety out and about. When I ran out of school, I decided to run away. I mean, what’s a better way of putting my learning of safety to the test. “But where could I go?” my head asked me.
“To the forest outside my house!” I answered.

Late that night I set off with my rucksack, and made my way into the forest. I used all my knowledge of safety and wildlife to make it through the night.

I returned home safely the next day, and I enjoyed my knowledge about wildlife and out and about safety.

Why Lucy needs to go to school by Lettia,

Dear World Leaders,

I am writing to inform you about the fact that everyone deserves and has the right to go to school. But poor Lucy and other children, don't have this opportunity which is vital for them, otherwise they won't get a good education. Therefore, they won't be able to get good jobs, to feed their families. Do you think that’s fair?
I know many people don't, so it is so important that she goes to school, because it will help her in future life.

I hope you take this into consideration!

Thank you!

Some of the words sounded like a foreign language! by Lettia

Dear Diary,

Today I watched Despicable Me 2 with my cousin (Aaliyah) and my auntie (Letesha). The film was great, and I just love those minions and the way they speak! Some of the words sounded like a foreign language! Well overall, the movie was just great, and it was really fun eating so much popcorn and ice - cream. That’s what I did today, what did you do?
From your bestest friend forever
Lettia S B!

P.S Have you seen this film? If you have, what is your best bit, your favourite part and character and would you consider seeing it again? Bye bye!!

Plastic people are helping a bee, which may be dead.
They bandage its arm, and undislocate its head.
They carry him to hospital, being cautious.
They feed him food, not very delicious.
Finally he is better, all safe now.
But then it happens again, how?
So again it has its treatment, to make him far from ill.
Like reversible’s always say, where there’s a way, there’s a will.
Now that was a poem all about bees,
And how they hurt and scrape their knees,
But most importantly, they are quite clumsy,
And sometimes shout “Where’s my mumsie?”

And when I opened the cupboard door . . .by Lettia

Dear Diary,

My mum confiscated my tablet, and she said when I tidied up my room, I could have it back. Obviously, tidying was not the answer, so I decided to get it myself. I figured, the place where everything goes when banned, is the cupboard. And, well, the cupboard doesn’t have a hiding place, or a lock, so this would be simple. Sneakily, I tiptoed downstairs and opened the cupboard, but to my surprise when I finally did open it, I found something shocking!!!
And when I opened the cupboard door . . .

but I couldn't find the egg . . . by Lettia

On Easter Sunday, I received a chocolaty, scrumptious Easter egg. It was pure chocolate with a hollow centre, and came in a cardboard basket.

Although the feel of the shiny, but bumpy feel was right in front of my eyes (In fact, right in my hands) I was told that I wouldn't be able to eat it until after dinner.

So . . . I waited, and waited, and waited, and finally came the time to eat the delicious egg! Sprinting, I rushed into the front room to destroy the lovely Easter egg.

Happy thoughts awaited me, but I couldn't find the egg . . .

But, I thought I had enough time by Lettia

Today I forgot about homework
And “Oh no!!” I cried,
I had to do something about it
So there I sat and sighed.

“What could I do?” I thought
But then I had an idea,
Just simply send a little note
Saying
From Lettia

The content would read
“Well… But, I thought I had enough time,
See, not bringing in your homework
Really isn't a crime.”

The next day miss came to me saying
“Your note was great, I loved the way it rhymed,
So I’m proud to say, not bringing in your homework
Is officially, unofficially crimed!”

The Eclipse by Lettia

Today, the school kids were very excited, this was because of the eclipse which was happening quite soon. One of the girls shouted “Look up! Can you see?”
“Yes!!” Another replied. Indeed, they were talking about the eclipse. It had come,… And so quickly. Suddenly everything went dark, as the sun hid behind complete darkness. But within a couple of minutes, it was all over.

The children groaned and sighed, some of them even remarked “Oh! It’s done,” and they ran off into the classroom, leaving the sun to recover. The others, well…

but when she lifted the lid.. by Leah

Pandora is a young woman who got married to a man named Epimetheus.  However, their relationship grew apart as Epimetheus had a box (Which you may know as Pandora’s Box). She would beg and plead for him to let her open it, but he would never give in.
One day when Epimetheus was out, Pandora snuck over to the box, and lifted the lid, but when she lifted the lid, all the diseases  and poverty fell out. That’s where all the bad things in the world come from, and just because of Pandora and her greediness.

Cinderella by Lettia #24

I chose to change the ending of Cinderella.

Once upon a time, there lived a ugly step mum. She had two daughters who were as evil as her, and they all had one enemy… Cinderella.
Cinderella was made to do all the housework and chores. I guess you could call her their slave.
One day, the ugly daughters received a letter from the prince. He had invited them to a ball, but the daughters didn't like the prince. They thought he was full of himself, so, they didn’t go.

The End

Lettia #22

In the middle of the night, I saw a bright light shine through my closed curtains. I reached out to turn my lamp on, when, the light became even more brighter. “What is that?” I thought to myself, and as this question came to mind, I sprung out of bed, and pulled my curtains open. When I looked out to see what the mysterious light was, I saw that it was coming from a fence, that led to a house. As I realised this, I turned off my lamp, shut my curtains, and went back to sleep.

“Mum, do we have to go out on the boat?”
“Yes, I told you that you needed some fresh air,” my mum moaned to me. I groaned and carried on walking down to the beach. “Hop on then,” mum raised her voice. Thud was the sound, as I jumped onto the boat. She took the hook off, that was the only thing keeping us from floating away. The boat rocked from side to side, and in the distance all we could see was water.
After about an hour or two, we finally landed back on dry land.

Lettia #19

One day, I was skipping happily down the street, when I saw a pink gorilla riding a giant bicycle. As he saw me, he started to do tricks. Jumping up and down, swirling around, they all were going so well until he tripped up and fell over. As that happened I laughed. When he finally picked himself up, I realized that he was part of a grand parade. The music started and the pink gorilla cycled off into the distance, so I scratched my forehead and started to make my way back home.

I think these windows are smashed in and that they might be broke. Inside the shed that they are on looks dirty, smelly and damp. This shed is probably used for power tools. If there were power tools inside, they would probably be dirty and even rotten. The dirt on the windows looks like dust. The paint on the shed is scratching away. Altogether the shed looks like it is in serious condition and needs replacing. This shed looks as if it has some paranormal activity. The shed looks very old and really dirty.

I had just eaten my dinner when my Nana came in with some pudding. It was a cake with lumpy custard filling up the bowl. “Thanks,” I whimpered quietly. I looked up when I saw everyone else tasting it, so I decided to as well. “Yuck!” I screamed at the top of my voice. The custard tasted disgusting so I asked if I could leave the table as I couldn't bear to look at it any more. When I got out of the room I went up the stairs to wash my mouth. “Phew,” I sighed as the taste had left.

… but when I put the batteries in it … by Lettia

When I opened the smallest present out of all of that I received was shocked that my mum had brought me a wind-up toy. It had a design of a polar bear that went all around the toy. “Can I play with it yet?” I begged my family. My mum nodded her head as she walked away to get changed. I was excited until I saw that it needed batteries to work. As I stood up I found 2 of them sitting tiredly on the chair, so I picked them up, placed them inside and waited when something bizarre happened…

As we were left in the dungeon we discovered that there were some paints and a canvas. Then suddenly the goblin shouted, “Paint me a picture, NOW!!!” So off we went trying to paint the best picture ever. We both decided to paint a self-portrait of the goblin. Swish, swish, swish, swish that was the sound of the paintbrush on the canvas. Wow!! The piece of art was brilliant. “Not bad for one day of work.”
“Have you finished then?” the goblin asked. “May I have a look?”
“Sure!”
“It is beautiful. You can go now then.”
