'Dad Man' by Lexi

Suddenly, the deafening sound of a car horn flooded my ears. We were on the motor way travelling to a secret location for Daddy’s work. I turned around and strained my eyes to see what all the fuss was about. I could make out the menacing silhouette of a gun. It seemed to be moving forward! The sound of bullets now filled the air. With a screech of brakes, Dad leapt out of the car and ripped off his shirt only to reveal his ‘Dad Man’ costume. Muscles bulging, he tied a knot in the barrel of the gun. Saved!

…however she couldn’t believe what she had done…, by Lexi

Curiously, Blue ran her finger along the rough edges of the painting. It was of a whirling tornado destroying a small house. All of a sudden, she found a button. Obviously, she pressed it noticing that the room got a little chilly. Just then, the windows started to flap open and the door began to slam. A tornado came slicing through the building. The world went dark. Suddenly, she could feel sea water splash against her face. She stood up, scanning her surroundings. It was beautiful - however, she couldn’t believe what she had done... she was in Cair Paravel, Narnia!

Bridge Sprinkled Pink Daffodil Huge, by Lexi

Yesterday, I noticed a strange looking man sitting in the the street, holding a bag and yelling, ‘A cow for the most wonderful gift of all!’ and he sprinkled some glitter onto the floor. Intrigued, I offered the man Daffodil (my cow), in return for the mysterious bag. Then he vanished!
Later that evening, I opened the bag and realised that the man had given me pink beans! Angry, I hurled the bag on the floor before storming into my bedroom.
Suddenly, from the beans sprouted a huge vine with a bridge leading to the clouds. What should I do?

…but I didn’t understand the instructions… by Lexi

There I was, travelling cluelessly at 24,790mph through space. Let me take you back an hour...
Deafening screams of pain and fear echoed throughout the once peaceful planet. I was laying in bed, scared, until my dad came running in; his hands shaking and eyes red and teary. “They’re here!” he whispered
“Who are?”
“The humans!” I scrambled out of bed and together, we tiptoed cautiously down to the secret bunker holding the one and only: ‘Space rocket 2000’. He gave me the guide on how to use it, but I didn’t  understand the instructions in the book! 5,4,3,2,1 blastoff!

SHOUTED CRIMSON MISTY FRANTICALLY GRAVE by Lexi

“No! Please!” I shouted.
“I’m sorry but there’s nothing I can do.” whispered Mum, a tear rolling down her cheek. Not believing her, I frantically ran towards my bedroom but suddenly tripped and ended up skidding across the crimson carpet into Grandpa’s room. I couldn’t bear the pain any longer. “Mum, can we visit his grave?” I asked quietly.
“Of course we  can,” she said whilst reaching out her arms to give me a big hug. Just before I went to bed that night I looked out of the misty window and there was Grandpa’s star, shining down on me.

The Legs by Lexi

“Quick Jack run!” screamed his mother. Jack ran out the door not turning once to look behind him. He approached a sea of people and asked them what they were running from; they didn't answer. Suddenly, from out of the clouds sprouted a pair of giant pink legs. Then he saw it. From under a big barrel of hay lay an axe glistening in the sunlight. Swiftly, Jack grabbed it. Courageously he ran towards the colossal beast, his heart pounding continuously in his chest. ”Bam!” on the floor lay his colossal body and perched between a tree were his legs.

…Although they ran quickly, they were still not making enough progress…by Lexi

They could hear their hearts pounding in their chests. ”3,2,1, start!“ yelled the zoo keeper before blowing his bright red whistle. All around them was a blur. The crowd roared with applause and they ran as fast as their little legs would take them. Although they ran quickly, they were still not making enough progress to catch up with the cheetahs. Every second, animals would drop to the floor in pain and sheer exhaustion but they weren’t going to give up now. The finish was in sight. Now it was neck and neck. Who would win and who would die?

But how did she get up there? by Lexi

“Help!” screamed a voice as it echoed into the distance.
“Who’s there?” I whispered. As I stood in the desolate forest I began to tremble in fear.  Nervous, I slowly twisted my head back and forth searching for an answer as to where this voice was coming from. “Hello,” I murmured.
“Help! I’m up here!” Suddenly, I spotted a young girl hanging loosely onto a skinny, crooked tree branch. But how did she get up there? And how could I get her down? “Stay there I’ll get you down!” But how could I? There was nobody around for miles!

The Giant Teacup by Lexi

Do you like tea? Or are you more of a coffee person? Either way, NEVER drink it out of a small china cup! Here's why...

"I've got  present for you!” whispered Sally. Out of her pocket, she slowly revealed a shiny, white china cup embellished with gold. Excited, Teddy’s  arms shot up faster than a rocket as she attempted to reach the cup, however, as soon as the tips of her fingers touched it there was a huge bang and Sally had disappeared leaving only the cup which had suddenly grown and merged with the ground! What could Sally do?

…but what if I was in charge?… by Lexi

In a duel between good and bad, Mr Evil and his sidekick are about to brainwash the world by using a red button. The he will finally rule the world...
“Bobby, bring me the button!” demanded Mr Evil
“Ugghhhh,” I moaned, “Why, you're sitting right next to it?”
“Don't answer me back!” barked Mr Evil.
“Sorry, shall I start the countdown?”
“Yes!” he replied.
“5,4,3,2” Wait... but what if I was in charge? I could rule the world!”
“Bobby!” bellowed Mr Evil.
“Yes.”
“Start the countdown!”
“No!”

Ladder Goldfish Flew Brown Slowly by Lexi

Do you have wings? I do! One time I flew all the way to Australia. Once you are in the air, you can fly higher than a ladder among clouds and birds. You feel weightless like candy floss. They weren't always there though, they grew. One night I was watching my goldfish swim around continuously in his bowl. It's so boring just being able to swim or walk, but what if you could fly! The next morning when I woke up my back started to ache. Slowly, I sat up, that's when I noticed a huge pair of brown wings.

Trees by Lexi

"It's coming!" barked Dan, heroically grabbing his children and running off into the distance. Screams of horror echoed throughout the world. All humans had now disappeared, and every man-made thing had crumbled into a pile of rubble. All that was left on the earth was trees. But what could they do, sit around and wait to be destroyed? No! They would run too. One by one, they ripped their roots out of the earth and sprinted past thorns and nettles, their slender bodies aching with pain. "Snap! Crack!" They were death's prey. The end was in sight, or was it?

...we were moving very fast... by Lexi

“Five, four, three, two, one, Blast off! “ Smoke surrounded us as we took off into the air. We were moving very fast when suddenly, Julia’s eyes rolled back into her head like a zombie. What could I do? Was she unconscious? She certainly wasn’t responding. My mind was a car, racing cluelessly around a race track. We had now left the Earth’s surface and were zooming around in space. Should I continue to steer the rocket or possibly save Julia’s life? Mind made up, we plummeted back down to earth at a speed of 25,000 mph. Would we make it?

… it came down the drainpipe… by Lexi

The moon glowed red. Everyone’s eyes were bloodshot. Now the Earth was a zombie following the moon as it slowly drifted sideways. Even the houses were haunted by the moons hypnotic stare; fire places suddenly burst out colossal flames of orange and scarlet. Something bad was happening. Then the moon started started to get smaller rapidly until “BAM!” the moon had popped. Everyone woke up from their trance confused and worried. They took shelter under a near by tree as it rained a shaft of moonbeams. It came down the drainpipe, before disappearing into the ground never to be seen again.

Talking statues by Lexi

"Sidney, Move!" shouted mum before grabbing her and running to a nearby café for shelter.

"Daddy!" screamed Sidney, kicking her legs and slapping her mother. Her father came running behind, shielding his family from harm.

"Stay away!" he implored, "What have my family ever done to you?" But it was too late, airplanes were already crowding around them, their cannons full of stone bullets. All they could do now was hug and pray. Suddenly they could hear voices starting to count down from ten, "Nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one!"
Bang! They had been turned to stone.

Red Before Snake Clock Cycled, by Lexi,

Suddenly I was face to face with it! The red snake had quickly slithered out of Colchester zoo before wrapping itself tightly around my bike wheel. I cycled away as fast as I could, but it was too late the snake was already wrapped fiercely around my bony neck! The clock was ticking. I had to find a way to live, but how? The snake’s mouth was now stretched wide open. I could see it’s razor sharp teeth, dripping with venom! Then it bit me. I could feel the poison seeping into my body. No one could help me now!

The Hand by Lexi

Suddenly everything went quiet. I stood up and scanned the room looking for someone to question. Eventually, I came across a small, timid child hiding amongst some clothes in a wardrobe. I began to hear a little noise ringing in my ears. As the noise came closer I could make out the sound of trumpets. “Why are you in a wardrobe and what’s that noise?” I asked.
“It’s the evil hand” he replied in a squeaky voice. I burst out into laughter.  “An evil hand, that’s pathetic! it couldn’t even scare a baby!”  But I was wrong very wrong!

the tiger was blocking our escape by Lexi

Help!
My name is Ben Creature, I am stranded on a jungle island in Asia. I'm hungry, dehydrated and lonely. However, at first I wasn’t alone. I'm an orphan. Me and my friend Oliver were travelling to our new home before the accident happened. I can picture it in my mind. The tortured screams still ring in my ears. Moments after the plane crash, we ran seeking shelter but the tiger was blocking our escape. Suddenly he pounced, missing me but not Oliver. That was the last time I saw him and possibly the last time I'll see civilisation ever again.

energetic hurried sandwich white battery by Lexi,

A battery, a battery? Really Dad! 10 years and you still can't pull yourself together enough to pack my lunch. All I need is: 1 Sandwich (preferably white bread) and maybe a chocolate bar. Not an energetic battery! As you could imagine, not the best impression for the first day in a new school. I hurried down the corridor before anyone could see me. This made me think. Had I eaten a battery before? Had people seen me eat a battery or worse? This is all Dad's fault. If he hadn't broken up with mum, we wouldn’t be here now.

Hooded figure by Lexi

Legend says he wanders the streets at night searching for victims that he can turn to stone. Dare you look into his eyes; you too will turn to stone forever. That was the story, however I was told too late. As I patrolled down the street, I came across a handsome statue I had never seen before. Its face was shielded by a brown velvet cloth. Unlike the rest of the statue, I could pull it down. I looked into mysterious grey eyes. This was no statue ...this was the Demon of Sheffield! Petrified, I turned to run, but my legs wouldn’t move. No! I was turning to stone...
