"…but I’m afraid it’s the last one," he said… Rio

Finally I have enough money to buy the toy I’ve been saving to buy for 10 weeks! Today I’m going to buy it, but when I got there I had a big surprise. When I asked the man, “Can I have the Zoom Zoom car please?”
He replied, "But I’m afraid it’s the last one,"
“So?”
“So you can't have it.”
“But I have the money!”
“Tuff!”
“ITS NOT GIVE ME IT!”
“It’s already been bought”
“By…”
“David Walliams the author of some kids books.”
“If it has been bought why is it there?”
“Because he’s going to collect it.”
“Ok” So I went home and waited for new stock.

...but it was far too hot... by Rio

On Friday I am going to Spain. My Mum booked the holiday last week. When they told me where we were going I said, “But it is far too hot.”
“Well too bad,” mum replied back in a nagging sarcastic tone.

When we got to Spain it was really hot, it was so hot I felt like I was melting. Then mum got the sun cream out and said, “Come and put suntan lotion on.” I didn’t want to so I jumped in the pool so I didn’t have to have any on because mum doesn’t like water. So she didn’t put me any on till…

…some of the words sounded like a foreign language..., by Rio

I went to Jurassic World to see all the amazing dinosaurs that are hatching there and being cared for. When I got there I tried to talk to the staff that were working at the entrance but I could not understand what they were saying because some of the words sounded like a foreign language. Eventually they did get someone who spoke English for me so then I got in. I started to look at the dinosaurs. I wanted to see the indominus rex really badly so I ran as fast as I could to its pen where it is kept. At the time it was eating cows!

But where could I go? by Rio

One day I was walking to school with my friends and we found something really bad but it looked cool. It was a shrinking gun, But we didn't know that at the time so I zapped myself and I shrunk! My friends thought I had a teleporting device to teleport me to school, so they walked away. Some other people walked near me so I ran, but where could I go? It wasn't actually people that were near me, it was ants but I didn't know because I was a teeny tiny boy. I carried on running and I got away.

Cauliflower Crimson Shivering Deep Walked by Rio

One day I walked my dog in the cauliflower field, it was very deep. It was a very cold the day when I walked my dog it was so cold I was shivering! When we got back on our crimson carpet the dog walked in and made it all white from the cauliflower in the field that we walked in. It wasn’t just a white carpet it was a carpet that’s smelt like cauliflower, we were all thinking what the smell was but one time I smelt it I thought it was the cauliflower from the fields. I explained what it was to my parents.

…but it made my tongue tingle… Rio

There is a boy called Jeff Bed and today he is going to a sweet shop with his friends, John and William. The shop was called ‘sweets for you’ but when they got there Jeff Bed was naughty because he stole a sweet and ate it! The shop man saw Jeff Bed stealing the sweet and Jeff had a big telling off. The shop owner said “Why did you steal that sweet and eat it?”
“Because I thought it would be nice but it made my tongue tingle”. The shop owner rang the boys mum and Jeff was grounded then.

So as she lifted the lid by Rio

Once upon a time there was a girl in her class bored like every other day. The next day Red Head Bark woke up and ran away. When she walked on the pavement Red Head Bark saw an unusual bin so as she lifted the lid and fell in but first Red Head Bark smelt bad things, then she smelt yummy things. Red Head Bark heard yummy sounds people going yum from people eating sweats then she realised she fell into a candy land. Red Head Bark felt like she was in her realm where she liked everything that’s there.

...but the ferocious wind... by Rio

One morning walking into school there was no breeze. It was lovely chatting with my mates, it was the best. The next day was the same but the day after that one we walked into school it was so windy a man’s trousers fell down and he asked us to help but we said no then he said “But the ferocious wind blew them down” we carried on walking to school laughing. The teacher found out what we said to the old man and we were in really really really big trouble so then we never did it ever again.

Rio - 100WC#32

Rebeca Red Head was going on an expedition with her mates when she saw something and she went to look what it what it was. Rebeca Red Head left the path and her mates and got lost so she tried to find her way back but she couldn’t and she encountered a big black bird. She found out it was a friendly bird so she got on it and flew up into the sky so she could look for her friends or to get home, she couldn’t see her mates so she flew home and had a really big nap.

Rio - X Marks the Spot

Today I'm going to a polling station to vote for the new prime minister where X marks the spot. X means who I will vote for. I'm going to vote for David Cameron the current prime minister until the new one is elected. David Cameron was good but he had a few faults like he advertises people dying from illnesses when I don't want to watch it especially when I'm eating because it puts me off. David Cameron does some good things because this country is successful because of him and his the Conservative party. I think it’s a good idea to vote every time.

Rio - 100WC#28

These statues of two people and a dog are in Cardiff, Wales. I think they are made out of aluminium or brass. I think they are in the harbour and maybe the man is asking the lady if she wants to have a walk on the boat with him because I think they are setting off on a cruise. I think they are from the old times from what it looks like from the picture. The lady might be saying, “Oh Edward look over there I think it’s the Titanic.” They might be coming back to land to come home.

Rio - My Ultimate Adventure

My Ultimate Adventure was in my scariest nightmare. I was running on the chemical testing desk which seemed huge. Then all of a sudden I remembered I was shrunk by the shrinking machine!!!!!! I work in a factory in a lab testing how to shrink things. Then some other person sat on the control chair when I was checking seeing if it was ok to use it then they shrunk me! The other workers ran to the table and saw me so they picked me up, held me and put me on the table again and put me to full size.

Rio …as they turned the corner… 100WC#26

There were three people called Joe, Bob and Jim. They were walking home from school one afternoon and as they turned the corner they fell down a huge black hole to another dimension. As they fell they had nausea because there were lots of bright purple lights messing with their eyes and freezing them. They soon realised that it was actually a portal they had fallen into. Then all of a sudden they were in another world they were told that if they kill the king (who is evil) they would let them all go home but they never did.

100WC#23 The Old Settee by Rio

I think it looks like the front of a car or it could be someone’s grave and they put them under the cushions. I think it’s made out of bricks and there is some fake cat on top of it which is weird and extremely unusual. I think it’s more a car/couch because it looks half car and half couch with no gears but there might be an engine under the cushions. This thing is REALLY confusing me its making my mind goes crazy with question of what it is. I think it is in a magical forest in London.

100WC#22 …but it said ‘sweet’ on the wrapper… by Rio

Johnny was walking home past a chemical lab when he found a sweet on the pavement. He was so hungry he unwrapped it but it tasted horrible then he said to himself, “But it said ‘sweet’ on the wrapper.” Johnny thought it was a chemical test sweet that a science worker had made but dropped it on his way to work. In the morning Johnny looked like a horrible beast. Then he thought, “That stupid sweet made me look like this horrible hideous beast with long sharp fangs and ten eyes and green coloured haired all of my body.”

100WC#21 … the silence was deafening…

In the abandoned house the silence was deafening. You couldn’t even hear a mouse until me and my friend opened the wardrobe and there was a skeleton living in there. We both screamed and ran for our lives. We ran out of the front door of the house and we were still screaming all the way home. That night I couldn’t sleep but just there next to my door was an outline of the same skeleton we saw in the wardrobe. I blinked twice and then when I opened my eyes the skeleton was gone. I knew I saw it but I was not believed by anyone.

Today in class we had a giant paper airplane fight. It started when we were seeing how paper planes work. The teacher was tapping at the board while I could hear some folding behind me. Suddenly, a paper airplane whooshed past my shoulder. It hit the teacher's head and bounced back. The silence was deafening as the teacher turned around.
"Who did this!" he yelled. All the children pointed at the person behind me. It was Liam, the naughtiest boy in my class. Liam can scare anyone away by just pulling his mighty fist. I turned my head round.

The silence was deafening, for an arena it was quiet. The audience were as still as statues and Messi was halfway through a flip but he was stuck in mid-air. I was the only one moving, or alive for that matter. The roof was also stuck in mid-air. I walked out of the arena, grabbing handfuls of food. No earth. No grass. No air. I had to hold my breath but soon gave up. I knew I was away from earth. The statues could have been dead people and what caused Messi to be in the air could be the gravity levels. There must be a simple explanation, there always is mind you. But where was I and how did I get here?

The silence was deafening, on my little sisters birthday. We were supposed to be singing but no one was because there was a green nosed witch. She had frozen all my family and friends which made me very sad. The witch said I will curse your family. Which I knew I didn't want that to happen. So I had to go to the witch’s castle and see if I could go into the dungeon through the fire and see if I could get the golden trophy. Which I knew I would! In a way. I did eventually.

I was walking down the cold muddy path and everywhere was silent not a sound to be heard. The silence was deafening then a loud screeching noise came across the woods! "Eek" I shouted as I tried to cover my ears but the sound made its way through, so I started to run from the sound but it got louder and louder so I went the other way as the sound disappeared I stopped and silence was one more.  I wondered to myself what it was suddenly, it popped into my head it was my shoes! So I stepped lighter on my feet as I did NOT want to experience the sound again. But I could be wrong...
Morgan

One day I was walking along the woods, the silence was deafening that I could not hear a bird tweeting. I could smell the apple blossom from far far away. I was looking around the forest trying to find a beautiful flower to take to my mum and dad but all I could see was trees. Even though I was in the middle of the woods there was still silence. It was really weird. The trees were like a lime green. The flower I wanted was pansy because my mum’s favourite colour is yellow and my dad’s favourite colour is red.

I was visiting a castle in the highland in Scotland but when I got there it was empty the silence was deafening and spooky. The castle was an old ruin and they were supposed to have a tour I paid £100 for this tour. Wait what's that it’s a blue light wait this is like the Disney film brave that is in Scotland. Maybe I should follow it well Merida did not do very well when she followed the wisp so maybe I shouldn't. Let's just go yes that’s what I'm going to do go home. I'm going to get my money back.

I was at school, I hate school, I am always tripping and falling. I am the clumsiest child in my school, and I am not proud of it. It was Monday, boring Monday. It was lunchtime, and I was looking for a place to sit. Eventually I found a place to sit, as I walked over to sit down, I slipped on a banana peel. Everybody just stared at me, not saying a word. The silence was deafening. They should have laughed, but the silence was bad enough. I was so embarrassed, I never wanted to go to school again.
Jemima

A few years ago, a young baby girl was born and her name was Kara. From the minute Kara was born she had a problem with her ears. She suffered periods of loss of hearing. A few years later Kara had experienced an extremely terrifying storm. The ear-splitting sound of the storm caused further unrepairable damage and it led to Kara becoming deaf. Kara’s life was changed forever and the massive disability of not being able to hear made Kara feel the silence was deafening. Kara had to live with this disability the rest of her whole life and she was never the same….

The little girl slowly but steadily entered the old, creaky house. She pushed the pitch black gate open with a nudge and it fell off its hinges. She stepped onto the welcome mat that looked like it wasn’t very greeting. As her feet rested on the old flooring, the silence was deafening and she slowly plodded down the stairs. Suddenly a loud bang came from the other room and she was knocked over! She ran out of the house and never set eyes on it again, leaving her prized possession an old heart charm the colour of the midnight sky.

I was in a car with my Dad, we drove to a park on a sunny day, then everything turned black so we had to go back home quickly before we got seen by the zombies, once we got back home we saw that everyone went out the house. But then I heard that the silence was deafening in my ears but it was only the zombies outside banging on the door. Then everything came back sunny again, then everyone came back home. Then Dad and I went to go do some racing on the rugby pitch with our remote control cars.

On Saturday my family was going shopping in town, I didn’t want to go as shopping was boring, so I asked if they could drop me off at the library so I could look for another Diary of a Wimpy kid book and then  pick me up when they had finished. So that’s what we did. On the way I could hear birds singing, people chatting, vehicles beeping and children shouting it’s so noisy. As I entered the library and closed the door behind, the silence was deafening what a change by only walking through a door peace at last.

On my holiday to Spain we stayed in a big mansion but what we didn’t know was it was a spooky one. When we got there I was petrified because it was scary looking. I nearly ran as fast as I could away. I walked into my room and it was that quiet the silence was deafening. There were paintings on the wall that made me feel like they were looking at me and there were cobwebs in the corner of my room and on the room so I ran as fast as I could to my Mum and Dad.
Rio

Every Saturday, me and my friend Kieran go to the cinema. Usually we watch funny films for children, but this time it was different. Like always we chose a kids' movie, however we had no idea, like most of the children watching, what is about to happen. Through most of the movie it was hilarious, however right at the end, one of the main characters had a bad accident. Everyone held their breath with a hope for positive end. The silence was deafening as if nobody was present at the theatre. Finally, awaited by everyone, the happy ending came and we all sighed with relief.

This is it, I am playing in Wimbledon finals and it’s the championships point. It’s now or never, the crowd goes quiet, the silence was deafening. I pick up the ball and toss it up in the air. The breeze blows my hair back. I serve it, and he returns the serve, I don’t think I can get it. I leap and stretch as far as I can, the ball just touches the end of my racket. The ball hits on the white line it is in. At first I can’t believe that I have won. I had dreamt of this since I was 10.
Caitlin

The silence was deafening. But then, a sudden movement, behind the big dark bush… A rustle. A creature? What was it? And what did it want? I didn’t know, but what I did know was that it seemed aggressive… Really aggressive. As I turned away to run something grabbed my shoulder. It was out of breath, breathing hard on my neck. Quick reactions are my strength; I kicked back and made a run for it! Heading straight back for my house I heard a call, “Chloe, Chloe!”… How did it know my name?

100WC#20

Jessica:
The grey hyena was very lonely and miserable because he was eating his sandwich in the park with his hyena friends when he said, “I am the best hyena in all the land and also I can climb the highest mountain in all the world.” That is when all of his friends got very mad with him and walked off. He hadn't seen his friends for a week until one of them came up to him and said, “You are a horrible friend,” and then the hyena walked off without another word. From then on the hyena was very lonely.

Lily:
One day my school and I went out for a school trip. Courtney said, “So Mr. Ball where are we going?!" After a while of twiddling his thumbs Freddirick answered with, "Weren't you listening? Mr. Ball is taking us all to the zoo!" Suddenly everyone in the coach stood up screaming.
“But it is so miserable and grey outside!" answered Celia.
"Well I can't wait, until I see the hyena, I heard that hyenas laugh and can climb!" said Clarissa.
"Well I've come prepared I've got a sandwich!" shouted Bobbi. “And no climbing hyena is going to eat it ok!!"

Morgan:
One day the witch of Grey came into the town of Rainbows and Sparkle it is a magical and colourful place with happy people but the witch HATES the place! The witch was planning to make the place Miserable but failed after the power of love stopped her. She has been planning to make the town unhappy ever since and she has a plan; to dress up like them and act like them, make a sandwich for all of them that makes them angry and unhappy and take over the world with her Hyena (which was called Climb strange name) but as normal her plan failed.

Eleanor:
One day I was walking up a hill. Every day I climb it with my dad. Today I found out that there was a magical sandwich on top. Everyone knew about it that made me miserable. I was still going to climb the Grey Mountain. I got to the top layer and there was a hyena guarding it! This was a weird day. I was just going to go, but as I turned round I saw people fighting for it, so I got it. I climbed my way through the hyena and there it was.

Jemima:
After school on Tuesday, on my way home, I saw a hyena. It was grey with a little bit of brown on it, it looked really hungry. Not too soon after, I watched it climb up a hill, for a while, it was going really fast, until it was nearly at the top, when it slowed down. When it finally reached the top of the huge hill, it ran over to a very large sandwich. The hyena was miserable to see that it was very mouldy. It must have been up there for a while. The hyena was very sad.

Kieran:
Five whole years ago in south America, a grey Hyena called Josh had to climb a cliff over 500 feet to get into a club called laugh a lot.
Josh replied “I’ll do it." Sometime later his mum made Josh a sandwich to give him hope but he just felt miserable having to climb 500 feet. The day came and Josh, his Mum and Dad and some of the club members arrived but Josh, he wasn't up to doing the climb so he shouted, "I can't do it." Consequently everybody laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed.

Olivia:
We got up one morning and we decided to go to the zoo for a family trip and so we all agreed. We got to the zoo and firstly we saw a hyena it was grey and looked very miserable so because it was miserable I gave it a sandwich to cheer it up but instead it climb the tree went crazy and attacked my sister that was very funny. Then an ambulance turned up to take her to hospital, then the zoo keeper told me off for feeding the animals. So in the end she had a broken leg.

Harvey:
In the holidays my family and I went to the zoo, it took a long time to get there and along the way one of the roads was closed so we had to go another way which added even more time to our journey. We finally arrived and the weather was not very good, the sky looked grey and miserable, we decided to have our dinner early so I ate my sandwich, while eating dinner the weather improved and we had a great time, the best bits were seeing the monkeys climb and a hyena nearly jump over the fence!

Rio:
It was a grey miserable day when I saw a hyena climb a mountain for food.
The hyena hoped there was a nice delicious sandwich at the top of the mountain.
The hyena was extremely hungry because all the animals moved south for the winter so his food source was rationed. The hyena hoped it was a piece of meat and not jam and cheese because he doesn't like it because he’s not a vegetarian. When he got to the top of the mountain he didn’t find a sandwich he found the animals so he was even happier that day.

Aron:
It was another rainy miserable Saturday. I thought to myself. “Mmm... I will invite Kieran around." I rang him up and he agreed!
After my friend came round, my mum took us to the fossil museum! When we got through the old, grey entrance we could see... An enormous fossil of a T-Rex! There was also a big climbing wall behind it. I said, "Let's have a climb. Me and Kieran really enjoyed all the climbing, however I got very hungry, as hungry as hungry hyena. I suggested to go to Subway for a tasty sandwich. We all loved the idea.

Caitlin:
This morning I woke admiring the picture on my wall. It was of my great granddad he had climbed a mountain, I wish I could climb a mountain, but I don’t think it’s for me. So the next day I decide to do something out of this world. I was going to Africa to see the incredible animals. I packed some food and water to keep me going. I saw amazing things and animals I had never seen in my life. I felt something brush against my back, it was a grey hyena! It had taken my sandwich. It bared its teeth, I was now miserable.

…what was that I could feel?…by Rio

It was the annual cubs camping event and this year we were going to a spooky forest called Dear Death. When we got there we set the tents up and the fire. Later we went exploring to find something the older scouts had hidden for us to find. It was getting dark and foggier by the minute which made everyone petrified and jumpy. Something strange was happening in front of me but I couldn't see it because of the fog. I was putting my hands in front of me to see what was there. What was that I could feel?

The light was so bright by Rio

I arrived home from school and went into the living room. I was blinded because the light was so bright for some odd reason. I thought it was an alien invasion! Once my eyes had adjusted I could see what it actually was. My dad was getting old and he had to put the brightness on 100 percent. I shouted “TURN THE BRIGHTNESS DOWN I CANT SEE!” I felt around as I couldn’t see or feel the sofa and I fell over and hurt myself. Dad immediately turned the brightness down to 50 percent and I could see where I was thankfully. Dad hugged me.

As he started they... by Rio

One cold day in January they were walking through a enormous field that was all iced over. It had been a freezing cold night and all the puddles turned into ice, like magic. The two men and their dog were out walking. One of the men threw the ball on the ice by accident and then the dog chased the ball on to the ice and the dog started yelping for help. As he started they had to quickly but slowly crawl on the ice to rescue the dog. They all managed to get off safely with no harm done to them at all.
