"…but I’m afraid it’s the last one," he said… Sam B

It was the last day of school, I was in year 6 about to leave primary, forever.
"It feels like an ordinary day," whispered my friend,"…but I’m afraid it’s the last one," he said... Sadness flew through my heart, I felt like I hadn't done enough in school. It was an emotional day here at primary school. The only good thing was that the holidays were about to come. I did not care about that, I cared about my friends. They were all going to King Edward Academy. I was about to cry, even though it was a happy time.

...but it was far too hot... by Sam B

I went outside to play some football. I got out my green football and put it on the soft grass. I went to kick the ball but it was far too hot for me to focus. I finally kicked it and it went way over the top of the fence onto my noisy neighbour’s garden. I got up and sneaked through my gate. I opened next door's rusty gate and rushed across to my football. I checked my surroundings, threw the football over the fence launched myself across to the gate dashed to my garden back over to the grass.

…some of the words sounded like a foreign language... by Sam B

I was in great New York after I had won the lottery. I was at my hotel at the reception.
"Hola Cómo estás?" asked the odd receptionist. Some of the words sounded like a foreign language in fact all of them.
"What?" I said rudely.
"He says how are you," explained my son. "I learnt Spanish at school,"
"Su habitación es sala de sesenta y dos en el piso tres," replied the receptionist.
"Your room is room sixty two on floor three," explained my son acting like a genius.
"My son is a complete genius," I thought. So we all headed to our room and unpacked all our stuff.

But where could I go? by Sam B

The national lottery was on. I had said to my kids that if I won I would take them somewhere.
"36!" the women cried. "45! 21!" It was my number.
"Yay!" shouted the kids. I could go anywhere I wanted but where could I go?
"Egypt!" shouted one kid.
"L.A.!" cried another.
"Paris!"
"Brazil!"
There were loads of places we could go. It was just so hard to choose.
"Wales," I said.
"Boring!" the kids groaned. Just then the answer just popped up in my head.
"How about we go to New York in America," I explained very proudly.

Cauliflower Crimson Shivering Deep Walked by Sam B

Mr. Cauliflower (he is a man not a vegetable) walked over to the crimson roses. They were very pretty and brought a strong colour to the field of flowers. Mr. Cauliflower stood there as still as stone. He could see all his memories floating across the grass. He turned around and headed on his way back when he heard a creak. He tapped his shoe on the grass. Suddenly, a plank of wood fell into a deep den. Why was this there? Why didn't he notice this before? Mr. Cauliflower started shivering in fear. He walked backwards to his home.

…but it made my tongue tingle… Sam B

I was on my diet, I could not eat any chocolate things. I was in the little dining room doing my boring homework. It was about food and all I could think about was the chocolate cake in the cupboard. I got out of my rusty chair to get the chocolate cake. I checked the room, it was clear. I slowly opened and took a crumb off the delicious chocolate cake. I knew it was bad to do it but it made my tongue tingle.
"Paul ate some chocolate cake!" shouted my little brother in his favourite hiding spot.

So as she lifted the lid by Sam B

Emily was starving. She was sitting in her room because she had pushed her sensitive little brother over. She jumped onto her tiny bed.

"Get something out of the chocolate tin," thought Emily. It was the only thing on her mind. She got of her bed and peeked out of the door. She crept round the wall and tiptoed down the stairs. She hid behind the sofa. Emily sneaked through the door and climbed the cupboard. She opened the other cupboard and grabbed the chocolate tin. So as she lifted the lid she heard a flicking noise of the light.

...but the ferocious wind... by Sam B

This was it. It was the challenge of climbing a fifty metre climbing wall. Luckily for me there was a pit stop halfway through. I grabbed onto the first rock. I grabbed another. After a while, I got used to it. I was nearly halfway and my fists were bursting with pain. I went to grab a rock but the ferocious wind blew me back. I had my left hand and both my legs on the rocks. I was super scared.
"This is for cancer!" I thought. Suddenly, all my strength came back. I felt like I could do anything.

Sam B - 100WC#32

The lego figure stood their staring at the black crow's clawed feet. There was nothing between the evil crow and the helpless figure except from some tiny pieces of rubble. The lego figure could not change her face because she only had one. The lego figure had been thrown outside onto a small tree stump. Unfortunately, a crow lived right next to the stump, which was unlucky for the lego girl. The crow glanced down at the little lego figure. It took two small steps and he was already lurching above the little thing. The lego figure slowly glanced up.......

100WC#31 Adapting Fairytales

The challenge this week was due to adapt a fairytale to celebrate the birth of the new royal baby.

Snowflake and the 7 trolls by Jessica
Once upon a time there lived a princess called Snowflake and she lived with 7 Trolls in the side of mountain. While Snowflake was living with the 7 Trolls her mother (The Queen) was on a hunt to kill her. It was very hard for Snowflake to keep running away from her horrible mother. The worst thing about Snowflake’s mother was that her mother was a witch so it was ten times harder to stay alive and survive. Every time Snowflake wanted to get away from the mountain the Trolls had to stay by her side.

Rapunzel by Sam B
Rapunzel was taking a stroll in the woods like she always did on a normal Sunday. She went past a tree and found a tall tower that stood in a massive steep crater.
"Help! Help! I am stuck," shouted a voice from below. Rapunzel quickly sped towards a steep edge.
"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair," begged a knight at the bottom of the stone castle.
"How do you know my name?" asked Rapunzel. The knight did not say a thing. Rapunzel let down her hair and the lost knight climbed up her long hair up to the top.

Cinderella by Mollie
Once upon a time when I was just a little child, a new royal family member arrived. Her name was Ella. When Ella was just four years old her mother died. After that an evil woman married her father. She had two daughters. They had taken Ella's room and so she had to sleep by the fire in the attic. The evil step mother used Ella as a slave. The two step sisters made fun of the ashes in her hair and called her Cinderella. Later on the family went out for a slow walk. The step-family got lost in the forest and were never seen again and Cinderella lived happily ever after.

Rapunzel by Morgan
Once lived a young girl named Rapunzel she was born with long brown hair a woman named Mother Gothal adopted the child but all she really wanted was her hair because Rapunzel's hair was magical. It healed the hurt and made Mother Gothal look and act younger. Rapunzel found out what was going on so she ran away and chopped all her hair off and turned blonde. A man named Flynn Rider came along and loved Rapunzel the moment he saw her and she loved him they both fell in love and got married Rapunzel's mother never knew what happened!

Hansel and Gretel Sam F
Once upon a time there was a small cottage. Inside there was a Mum, Dad and two little boys. One day we realised that we did not have enough food for our family. So the father brought his two boys into the forest and left them behind. When it started to get dark the boys had nowhere to go. Suddenly they saw a massive gingerbread house. So they ran as fast as they could to the door so they could go inside. As they knocked on the door a kind lady said, "You can stay here as long as you want."
The end.

Beauty and the Beast by Eleanor
Once upon a time there lived a very beautiful princess in a shining castle. The princess was so naughty she slurped her drinks; she even jumped on the table at dinner and she broke wind.
One night an old man came to the castle. He wanted warmth from the rain and horrible weather. The princess took one look at the man and walked away slamming the castle door behind her. In one second the old man changed himself into a handsome prince. After that the prince transformed her into a hideous beast and put a powerful spell on the entire castle.

Sleeping Beauty by Madison
One day a baby princess was born and every one came to see her and nearly everyone was invited. Then there were some fairies called Sparkle, Glitter and Shine they all gave the baby Victoria a very nice present. Then an evil human sized fairy named Dark Widow swooped in and said, "Oh why was I not invited!" and she got angry and cursed baby Victoria so that when she was 18 she would fall on a bush of thorns and go to sleep for millions of years and only true love’s kiss could save her....................

Cinderella / Royalella by Jemima
Long ago, there lived a young girl named Royella. Her mum had died years ago, that meant she'd never get a sister. So instead she decided to try and have a baby. Soon, she became pregnant. Everything was going according to plan when all of a sudden her father got married to Claireaphene, a very evil lady. Royalella's father wasn't aware that she was evil, but Royalella was. Royalella's new stepmother told her she wasn't allowed to have a baby. A while after, Royalella met the man of her dreams. They moved to Candy-land together. Royalella soon had her baby, it was named Charlotte.

Red Riding Hood by Rose
My favourite fairy tale story is Little Red Riding Hood because it is fun to read.
Once upon a time Little Red Riding Hood, Millie, went to bring her brother some ham and mustard because he had run out of food. As she was outside of his bedroom she saw a rat who jumped onto her shoulder. The rat was named Cow, he was Millie's brothers pet. When Millie skipped into her brother’s room she put down the food on his bedside table and popped Cow back into his cage. But she hadn't shut the bars properly, so Cow hopped out of the cage and into the wardrobe where he made a den. He did a little poo in Millie's brother’s best clothes. Millie had to sell Cow because he did a poo everywhere.

Red Riding Hood by Grace LB
There was a little girl called Red Riding Hood and she was on her way to see her granny, she walked there every week and her mother always warned her about the big bad bunny, he would steal your goodies and Red was giving granny cupcakes, but she didn't believe her. On her way she thought to herself, “How could a bunny be so scary.” She suddenly heard something behind her and then she only had one cupcake. Then she ran to her granny's house and gave her the cupcake, but all the bunny wanted was her carrot cupcakes.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears by Charlie
There was once three royal family members. Prince William was big bear, Princes Kate was Mummy bear and Prince George was baby bear. One day they walked to the Castle in Kensington Forest where they were served with three bowls of Rice Krispies, they poured over the cold milk and listened as they went’ "SNAP", "CRACKLE" and an "ENORMOUS POP", when out jumped a little princess called Charlotte Elizabeth. The princess soon became part of the Royal family and couldn't wait to see her granny, the "Queen". Princess Charlotte was welcomed by the Queen into the arms of the Royal Family.

Goldilocks and the Three Monkeys by Harvey
Once upon time in the rain forest a girl called Goldilocks saw a treetop house so she climbed up and saw three wooden plates with bananas on them. Daddy’s banana was too ripe, Mummy’s wasn’t ripe enough and baby’s was just right. There were chairs made out of branches, Daddy’s was too rough, Mummy’s too thin and baby’s was just right. Then she saw three hammocks’, Daddy’s was too itchy Mummy’s was too scratchy and Baby’s was just right. The monkeys arrived back to find her sleeping and swung her out of the hammock she awoke and Goldilocks ran away.

Cinderella by Chloe
One day there lived two ugly sisters, a step mother and Ella Cinders. They were rich and loved their life except from Ella. She hated life and always moaned about it, well she didn’t exactly moan, she wrote about it in her wish diary. It had sixteen wishes ready for her birthday (tomorrow). She was excited and was ready to roll, but unfortunately for her she couldn’t have a party because her step mother and two sisters wouldn’t let her. She got angry about this and she stole money off her sisters to buy the beautiful dress.
“ELLA, WHERE’S MY MONEY!!!”…

Gingerbread man by Aron
Once upon a time, lived an old man called Pat. He was lonely because his only daughter moved far away. Pat loved to bake. One day, he used a magical powder he got from his daughter. She said to use it when he feels lonely. He decided to make a big gingerbread man. After putting him in the oven it started to shatter! A massive blasting beam of blinding light came out from the old oven... The gingerbread man was alive! Pat didn't have to be alone anymore, he had a great companion and he called him Gingi.
And they lived happily ever after...

Cinderella by Caitlin
There was a girl called Cinderella who was invited to a ball with her two ugly step sisters. When they arrived the prince was there. Cinderella danced with the prince until the clock struck 12, Cinderella ran out of the palace, leaving her shoe behind. The next morning the prince went to see whose foot it should fit. One of the ugly sisters heard of this and had an old witch cast a spell on her that any shoe she tried would fit. The shoe fit and on the day she married the prince he turned into a penniless pauper.

Sam B - 100WC#30

Dad walked into the room. He saw his kids watching an adverts on TV. A drum roll sound came from the TV. BING!
"Co-co pops cornflakes are delicious and crunchy," said a voice on the TV. A crocodile on the TV sped over to a bowl of cornflakes. Suddenly, he fell in a hole that was covered in leaves. The screen switched to a monkey, a hippo, a giraffe and a lion. They all danced with their cornflakes. The advert went off and another one came on. Dad left the room.
"Weird and exciting adverts," murmured Dad.

Sam B - X Marks the Spot

The ship sailed over the sea and suddenly, crashed into a desert island. Quickly the ship started sinking!
"Abandon ship!" cried the captain loudly. He leapt out the ship and the rest of his pirate crew followed. The ship sank as a map fell in front of the captain.
"A map," said the captain's brother, Gareth. They adventured through the island following every single step on the map. Finally, they got to the X.
"X marks the spot," murmured the captain. They dug up the treasure and headed back to the ship.
"How are we going to get back?" wondered Gareth quietly, "no way."

"It's a good day here in Cardiff Bay, Jim," sighed Bob, taking a breath in the fresh air.
"Sure is," replied Jim. "If you had one wish what would it be?"
"I wish I could move," explained Bob.
"Me too," said Jim, "what else."
"Being the most famous person in the world," answered Bob.
"I would be in charge of everything," replied Jim.
"I get you," said Bob quietly. They looked out into the open sea.
"It's weird that if you kept on sailing from here you would get to America," said Jim.

"Yes, that is quite true," replied Jim.

Sam B - My Ultimate Adventure

It was the day of my great challenge. My ultimate adventure was 156 miles through the boiling dreaded heat of the Moroccan Sahara Desert. The twist was, I only had six days. Here is the diary of what happened;

Day 1
I have ran 10 miles and it is midday right now. I am hot but I have to keep going.

Day 3
I didn't have time to write yesterday. I was too tired to write. 104 miles left.

Day 6
My journey is nearly over. I am a mile away from the goal.

I just reached the goal, I'm here!

Sam B …as they turned the corner… 100WC#26

Part two
Luigi pulled at Mario but he just didn't budge. Then something clicked in Luigi's mind. He stepped back and leapt at Mario. All his weight, pushed them both through. Luigi clumsily tumbled to the floor as they heard the loud crushing noise of the rock walls. Mario lifted his cap and scanned the place. He saw his scruffy brother lifting his head with a cheeky smile. They slowly got up and went round the corner. As they turned the corner Mario noticed a sparkle, it was a pack of diamonds!
"Look bro, I found some diamonds!" yelled Mario.

PIPE SWAM GREEN CAREFULLY HORSE by Sam B

Mario and Luigi walked through a small garden.
"If you could do anything what would you do?" asked Mario.
"Make a horse," said Luigi.
"What?" replied Mario. He ran up to a green warp pipe and fell in! Luigi jumped in after him. They came out in a damp underwater cave.
"Where are we?" wondered Luigi.
"No idea," replied Mario. "Better find out." They carefully stepped into the water and swam across the water. Mario and Luigi got out the water and continued on. Two walls slamming together was their next obstacle. Mario quickly jumped in and got his foot stuck.

To be continued.

… then when I looked out of the plane window…by Sam B

I was excited for my holiday to Hawaii. I was stressed from work in the dusty factory. We were nearly there. Then when I looked out the plane window, I could see a tropical island covered with a line of soft sand. The gigantic plane landed on a small deck on the edge of the island. Hawaii was just a tiny step away. Everyone speedily rushed out into the dry beach. I felt the heat run through my body. I followed the line of happy people to a white hotel. I quickly got inside and went to my hotel room.

100WC#23 The Old Settee by Sam B

I saw a very odd settee yesterday. It looked like it was made out of solid stone. At the same time, it looked like it was an ordinary settee. There was a giant green bush right behind it; the leaves were thick too. The edges were nicely done and curved. It doesn't look very comfortable and the stone was super flat. It was very smooth. You could see lines that made the settee look like grey bricks. Small swirls covered the front of the two arms of the settee. The stone piece of furniture is probably the weirdest I've seen.

100WC#21 … the silence was deafening…

In the abandoned house the silence was deafening. You couldn’t even hear a mouse until me and my friend opened the wardrobe and there was a skeleton living in there. We both screamed and ran for our lives. We ran out of the front door of the house and we were still screaming all the way home. That night I couldn’t sleep but just there next to my door was an outline of the same skeleton we saw in the wardrobe. I blinked twice and then when I opened my eyes the skeleton was gone. I knew I saw it but I was not believed by anyone.
Jessica

Today in class we had a giant paper airplane fight. It started when we were seeing how paper planes work. The teacher was tapping at the board while I could hear some folding behind me. Suddenly, a paper airplane whooshed past my shoulder. It hit the teacher's head and bounced back. The silence was deafening as the teacher turned around.
"Who did this!" he yelled. All the children pointed at the person behind me. It was Liam, the naughtiest boy in my class. Liam can scare anyone away by just pulling his mighty fist. I turned my head round.
Sam B

The silence was deafening, for an arena it was quiet. The audience were as still as statues and Messi was halfway through a flip but he was stuck in mid-air. I was the only one moving, or alive for that matter. The roof was also stuck in mid-air. I walked out of the arena, grabbing handfuls of food. No earth. No grass. No air. I had to hold my breath but soon gave up. I knew I was away from earth. The statues could have been dead people and what caused Messi to be in the air could be the gravity levels. There must be a simple explanation, there always is mind you. But where was I and how did I get here?
Mollie

The silence was deafening, on my little sisters birthday. We were supposed to be singing but no one was because there was a green nosed witch. She had frozen all my family and friends which made me very sad. The witch said I will curse your family. Which I knew I didn't want that to happen. So I had to go to the witch’s castle and see if I could go into the dungeon through the fire and see if I could get the golden trophy. Which I knew I would! In a way. I did eventually.
Mia

I was walking down the cold muddy path and everywhere was silent not a sound to be heard. The silence was deafening then a loud screeching noise came across the woods! "Eek" I shouted as I tried to cover my ears but the sound made its way through, so I started to run from the sound but it got louder and louder so I went the other way as the sound disappeared I stopped and silence was one more.  I wondered to myself what it was suddenly, it popped into my head it was my shoes! So I stepped lighter on my feet as I did NOT want to experience the sound again. But I could be wrong...
Morgan

One day I was walking along the woods, the silence was deafening that I could not hear a bird tweeting. I could smell the apple blossom from far far away. I was looking around the forest trying to find a beautiful flower to take to my mum and dad but all I could see was trees. Even though I was in the middle of the woods there was still silence. It was really weird. The trees were like a lime green. The flower I wanted was pansy because my mum’s favourite colour is yellow and my dad’s favourite colour is red.
Eleanor

I was visiting a castle in the highland in Scotland but when I got there it was empty the silence was deafening and spooky. The castle was an old ruin and they were supposed to have a tour I paid £100 for this tour. Wait what's that it’s a blue light wait this is like the Disney film brave that is in Scotland. Maybe I should follow it well Merida did not do very well when she followed the wisp so maybe I shouldn't. Let's just go yes that’s what I'm going to do go home. I'm going to get my money back.
Madison

I was at school, I hate school, I am always tripping and falling. I am the clumsiest child in my school, and I am not proud of it. It was Monday, boring Monday. It was lunchtime, and I was looking for a place to sit. Eventually I found a place to sit, as I walked over to sit down, I slipped on a banana peel. Everybody just stared at me, not saying a word. The silence was deafening. They should have laughed, but the silence was bad enough. I was so embarrassed, I never wanted to go to school again.
Jemima

A few years ago, a young baby girl was born and her name was Kara. From the minute Kara was born she had a problem with her ears. She suffered periods of loss of hearing. A few years later Kara had experienced an extremely terrifying storm. The ear-splitting sound of the storm caused further unrepairable damage and it led to Kara becoming deaf. Kara’s life was changed forever and the massive disability of not being able to hear made Kara feel the silence was deafening. Kara had to live with this disability the rest of her whole life and she was never the same….
Sophia

The little girl slowly but steadily entered the old, creaky house. She pushed the pitch black gate open with a nudge and it fell off its hinges. She stepped onto the welcome mat that looked like it wasn’t very greeting. As her feet rested on the old flooring, the silence was deafening and she slowly plodded down the stairs. Suddenly a loud bang came from the other room and she was knocked over! She ran out of the house and never set eyes on it again, leaving her prized possession an old heart charm the colour of the midnight sky.
Grace LB

I was in a car with my Dad, we drove to a park on a sunny day, then everything turned black so we had to go back home quickly before we got seen by the zombies, once we got back home we saw that everyone went out the house. But then I heard that the silence was deafening in my ears but it was only the zombies outside banging on the door. Then everything came back sunny again, then everyone came back home. Then Dad and I went to go do some racing on the rugby pitch with our remote control cars.
Charlie

On Saturday my family was going shopping in town, I didn’t want to go as shopping was boring, so I asked if they could drop me off at the library so I could look for another Diary of a Wimpy kid book and then  pick me up when they had finished. So that’s what we did. On the way I could hear birds singing, people chatting, vehicles beeping and children shouting it’s so noisy. As I entered the library and closed the door behind, the silence was deafening what a change by only walking through a door peace at last.
Harvey

On my holiday to Spain we stayed in a big mansion but what we didn’t know was it was a spooky one. When we got there I was petrified because it was scary looking. I nearly ran as fast as I could away. I walked into my room and it was that quiet the silence was deafening. There were paintings on the wall that made me feel like they were looking at me and there were cobwebs in the corner of my room and on the room so I ran as fast as I could to my Mum and Dad.
Rio

Every Saturday, me and my friend Kieran go to the cinema. Usually we watch funny films for children, but this time it was different. Like always we chose a kids' movie, however we had no idea, like most of the children watching, what is about to happen. Through most of the movie it was hilarious, however right at the end, one of the main characters had a bad accident. Everyone held their breath with a hope for positive end. The silence was deafening as if nobody was present at the theatre. Finally, awaited by everyone, the happy ending came and we all sighed with relief.
Aron

This is it, I am playing in Wimbledon finals and it’s the championships point. It’s now or never, the crowd goes quiet, the silence was deafening. I pick up the ball and toss it up in the air. The breeze blows my hair back. I serve it, and he returns the serve, I don’t think I can get it. I leap and stretch as far as I can, the ball just touches the end of my racket. The ball hits on the white line it is in. At first I can’t believe that I have won. I had dreamt of this since I was 10.
Caitlin

The silence was deafening. But then, a sudden movement, behind the big dark bush… A rustle. A creature? What was it? And what did it want? I didn’t know, but what I did know was that it seemed aggressive… Really aggressive. As I turned away to run something grabbed my shoulder. It was out of breath, breathing hard on my neck. Quick reactions are my strength; I kicked back and made a run for it! Heading straight back for my house I heard a call, “Chloe, Chloe!”… How did it know my name?

100WC#19 by Sam B

I looked outside at the wet street.
"Why doesn't it ever snow in Winter?" I thought. The street was dark and gloomy. The street lights shined brightly on the rocky concrete.
"You'll never get your wishes if you stare out the window," my mum said. I sighed at the window.

"Maybe if I do something good," I thought. I got out a sheet of paper and did my homework. I rushed back to the window again. Small snowflakes started to fall. I knew it wasn't enough. I wondered what I was going to do next. It was all a giant mystery.
