The Statue by Maddie

One stormy night, a monk was sat on a bench outside the town. He was all alone that night wondering if he would actually find true love. All of a sudden, a cackle sound came behind him, he quickly jumped off the bench and looked behind and saw nothing. He was intrigued to know what it was, so he followed the sound into the heart of the woods. There he was all alone in the woods and could see nothing. An evil witch suddenly popped up behind him and turned him into stone. The statue has been there ever since.

Jake walked to his Nan's. She lived at the back of a large forest but every time Jake walked past this tree it felt very cold and he always thought he saw a dark hooded man. When he arrived at his Nan's, he asked her why it was so cold in the woods. She told him there was a story that there was an old man’s dog who had died next to a tree there. Only he was to visit his grave, so he sent a cloaked man over there to guard the grave. “But I don’t think it is true!” she said.

Legend says he wanders the streets at night searching for victims that he can turn to stone. Dare you look into his eyes; you too will turn to stone forever. That was the story, however I was told too late. As I patrolled down the street, I came across a handsome statue I had never seen before. Its face was shielded by a brown velvet cloth. Unlike the rest of the statue, I could pull it down. I looked into mysterious grey eyes. This was no statue ...this was the Demon of Sheffield! Petrified, I turned to run, but my legs wouldn’t move. No! I was turning to stone...

The Demon by Ella

Out in the wood the stone figure of a Demon still remains. Children tell tales when they hear the word Demon. One of the rumours had spread around the school in just one day. The rumour had it, he used to be a man who had stolen two sheep to feed his starving family, so the Lord of the land made him a Demon and turned him to stone. Many children are scared, and they should be as the curse was set for one thousand years, but no one knows when it was done and when it will undo and he will come back to life and seek his revenge....

The hooded figure - by Tegan

This morning I was walking through the forest and I saw this scary looking creature standing there in a black cloak with a hood over his head. As I walked over, it was staring at passers-by. I was a bit worried about what to do. Should I be afraid - should I not? I was starting to walk away when I realised he was staring at me as I walked away. I walked past it and it was still staring at me I didn't know what to do. Will I ever see it again I hope not?

A walk in the forest by Scarlett

Yesterday me and my best friend Millie were walking through Kielder Forest whilst on our camping holiday. Suddenly we saw a tall, black, glossy statue of a monk. We were both scared as we had read that this statue only appeared in December alone. If this wasn't bad enough, it is known to come alive on the 12th of December at 12pm and grab anything in sight. We began to shake with fear and didn't know what to do. Then as I looked at my watch we realised it was 11.59pm and the date was the 12th of December!

The stranger by Alexander

A walk through a forest. It was a great day. Perfect, as a matter of fact. I was walking in the forest, and saw a brown, medium size man. I approached him, and asked, "Are you okay...sir?" No response. I ask again, but louder, "Are you okay...sir, answer me please." The only words I could describe of him were, no face, no head, no arms? It was confusing. It could have been a statue perhaps. Until, it gently turned its head at me. "Sir, honestly, please answer me." It then walked towards me. I then got scared and screamed...at the top of my lungs. I ran and ran and ran and NEVER looked back. I dialled 999 and he was arrested. I never felt so good.

The Thief by Natasha

In the middle of a forest, near a holiday village just outside of Nottingham, was where a creepy thief could be found. He always dressed in black - not one thing he wore was a different colour.
Whilst all the holidaymakers were out enjoying their holidays, he was breaking into their villas and stealing their valuables. All the holidaymakers and staff were afraid of him as he was known to be violent. The police could never catch him, until one day they caught him in the middle of a robbery. He was sent to prison for a year. When he got out he was a totally different person and never stole again.

Grim Reaper by Grace B

Here we see a statue that is thought to be the Grim Reaper overlooking a graveyard. Some people are afraid and feel uncomfortable around him. But there is no need to be afraid as he is a friendly soul who comforts the souls he takes. It is believed that his statue remains there to over watch the graveyard and protect the souls. Sometimes late at night people claim to have seen the statue move, however there is no evidence and the sightings have only happened when only one person is present. Since the statue arrived there have been no crimes.

Bringer of Death Greets You by Clara

Hello.
My name is Death.
I did not choose my name, it came with the job. Are you screaming?
Lots of people do.
They like to argue that their time is not up, but they are just cluttering up the precious space Earth has. I am fair, if not polite or respectful. Hey, if you had an eternity of people whimpering, “I can’t die yet!” you would be annoyed. A simple thank-you would be very satisfying every now and then.
I must get back to the point, this is my way of saying, “I am not a bad person.”

Goodbye.
