‘Achievements & Hopes’ by Clara
One of my most prominent memories of Year 6 is taking the 11+ and getting the results. I still remember the euphoric joy I felt when I first opened the letter that told me if I was going to my dream school or not. Reading the words, "I am pleased to inform you" and exploding with self-pride. One of my other most memorable moments is getting my report for Year 6: which also contained my SATs results. I was so amazed when I discovered I had got a scaled score of 120 (the highest score possible) for all my tests.

100WC#39 by Clara

Hundreds of years pass.
I don't seem to age. I don't feel, I only exist. People notice me, of course they do.
After a while, they see me as something to use to their advantage. They start to pile their rubbish into me. Maybe one day they will accept me. Maybe, just one day.

Leopard Tennis Shop Purple Grabbed, by Clara
As I was walking through the shop, looking for purple tennis racquets, I stumbled across a most magnificent sight. A stuffed leopard (which was orange, though I wish it was purple). I was admiring it when, suddenly, the leopard split in two, a hand grabbed me and I disappeared from sight. Travelling at -at least- 100 miles an hour, my insides churned and twisted. At the end of my descent into the Earth, I was greeted with a small group of people disguised in hooded cloaks.
"Welcome," a deep voice echoed around a large empty cavern, "to your worst nightmare."

It had been raining all morning. by Clara
I looked out the window. The rain-spattered glass distorted my view on a dull grey world. It had been raining all morning. Anyone stupid enough to go out before the rain started would be long dead. I saw a text message from my friend Lily. Their mother had gone out to buy some food. They were worried. I wanted to reassure her, but I couldn't lie to her. Instead, I chose to stop living this kind of life. Terrified and anxious every time I looked at a weather forecast. I stepped out into the rain. I started to live again.

Bridge Sprinkled Pink Daffodil Huge, by Clara
As the blissful group crossed the bridge, pink blossom sprinkled from the sky. The sun was setting, lighting the sky; an explosion of colours, oranges and blues with a pinch of purple. The ruby city glowed in the distance like a candle, guiding people home. However, at the end of the bridge was a huge daffodil. This daffodil had a set of razor-sharp teeth hidden behind the unassuming petals. "Oh, how pretty!" a young girl cried, running towards the carnivorous beast. Quick as as flash, the girl was scooped up into the mouth of the daffodil, and never seen again.

Clara - 199WC#33

Meanwhile, inside the "conkers", changes were occurring. The exteriors stayed the same, albeit a little growth, but inside a tiny humanoid shape was forming. Soon, an entire army would be forming, and humans wouldn't stand a chance.

…but I didn’t understand the instructions…by Clara
I took a deep breath. "You've got this," I thought to myself. It was my first day at my new job. My job was at the factory where everyone comes to work on their 18th birthday, and I had been placed in control of the factory security. My new boss had been to see me earlier to tell me what I was to do, but I didn't understand the instructions they had given me. I had been organising my pencil pot when alarm bells started to ring. I panicked, pressing as many buttons as possible. "I've killed us all!" I screamed.

SHOUTED CRIMSON MISTY FRANTICALLY GRAVE by Clara
Sitting at the grave of my father, I stared through the misty darkness, guarding. Waiting. The crimson moon shone down, making the drenched ground look soaked in blood. I must have waited for hours before I heard the inevitable battle cry. "CHARGE!" A lumbering brute shouted, his vague outline visible in the twilight. Frantically, I prepared myself for the Great War my father had started, and that I would finish. The Normals never knew what hit them. My telekinesis smashed through their brains, killing them instantly. Finally, the Abnormals were free to rule the Earth, as nature intended, once more.

The Legs by Clara
A group of people from the well-off village of Harlop had been wandering through the fores, hunting pheasants, when they had stumbled upon what seemed to be a useless sculpture. Walking off, they had never noticed a huddle of malnourished children from the poor village of Hillsland watching from the bushes. A small boy scampered to the pair of tin legs and knocked on them.
"Whoosh!" the legs slid up and the ground opened up.
"Wow!" whispered the boy. Underneath the model was a room filled with gold...

…Although they ran quickly, they were still not making enough progress…by Clara
The group scampered and sprinted away from whatever was chasing them. They had not wanted to find out! …Although they ran quickly, they were still not making enough progress as the thing was getting closer and closer. The dark tunnel stretched onward for miles, and one of them called out, "I can't ... run ... for much longer!"
"We need to turn around and accept our fate!" panted another.
Slowly they took a deep breath and turned around. Stood before them was the person they had been bullying for years, their face blood-stained, their eyes wide, holding a knife and a camera....

But how did he get up there? by Clara
A crowd stood before me. Cameras clicked, and people mumbled,
but I could barely hear them. All I could focus on was my brother. On top of
that building. On the edge of that building. Millimetres from plummeting to his
death. “But how did he get up there?” I asked myself. The only way up to the
roof was up a ladder. My brother hated ladders. I slipped through the police
tape, past the guards, I didn’t care anymore. I had to get to him. My sweaty
palms slipped on the cool metal bars as I climbed up to him…

Biggest Teacup in the World by Clara
"I don't care! screamed the giant, throwing the cup from his cloudy garden. It fell down, down, down, till it disappeared from sight, eventually landing with the softest "clunk."
Locals have been flocking to see the "Biggest Teacup in the World" after it mysteriously appeared during last night's thunderstorm. A farmer, who owns the land it was found on, said when asked for a report, "I have no idea where it came from. One day it wasn't there, the next there it was!" Conspiracy theorists have claimed the teacup belongs to a giant who lives above us in the clouds.

…but what if I was in charge?… by Clara
The world lay in ruins, and it was all my brother's fault. He had led the rebellion against the world's leaders, that had subsequently led to a nuclear war... which led to us now. As I lay dying in a ditch, I wondered, "But what if I was in charge?" I was always the one better at debating, my brother solved everything with brute force. Who knows, maybe my plan would've worked, maybe my plan wouldn't've killed everything on the planet. Mind you, there's no point contemplating decisions and "what if's" in the last few seconds of my life...

Ladder Goldfish Flew Brown Slowly by Clara
I flew around my bowl while my owner, a brown-haired girl with brown eyes as murky as a day-old puddle, slowly climbed into bed and fell asleep. I may have only been a goldfish, but I had a very important job: to keep children safe from nightmares. I pressed a button on a decoration, and the ground slid open to reveal a ladder. Swimming downwards, I came to the office of the Nightmare-Preventers. A variety of fish sat at desks, typing on waterproof computers. "Ready boss?" my assistant, a guppy, asked.
"Ready," I replied, slipping into the children's dream world...

Twigmen by Clara
Sprinting through the overgrowth, the creatures were coming. Slender bodies as fragile as twigs, who knows, maybe the creatures were twigs. Without a whisper, their silent midnight mission started... to eliminate the main source of all problems on Earth... humans. Creeping into houses was their speciality. The army had been hired by Mother Nature to rescue the planet from its gloomy future. The first victims were those who actively sought the destruction of the Earth: the frackers amongst others. They went to sleep that night and never woke up. By the time morning came, all of humanity had been obliterated.

...we were moving very fast... by Clara
"STOP!" cried my little brother desperately. Dad was driving his Ferrari at 200mph.
"Why are you doing this?" begged Mum, who had no idea what was going on. We were moving very fast when for the first time, we all noticed the police sirens behind us. "What are those police cars doing?" whispered Mum.
"I'm sorry," Dad replied while accelerating even more.
"Just stop the car, Alan." Mum calmly commanded.
"I can't. I don't want to lose any of you."
Ahead of us was the pier, then the cold winter ocean.
"This way we will be together forever." Dad accelerated...

… it came down the drainpipe…by Clara
I screamed.
On the roof the house stood a gigantic hairy tarantula. I t must have been 6 feet tall with 30 centimetre hairs on each of its legs. Its jaws looked like it could swallow me whole. It came down the drainpipe. I think it looked hungry.... hungry for me. Scuttling towards me, its jaws clicking and snapping, white oozing fluid seeped out of its abdomen. The monster circled me like a record on repeat, wrapping me up in a cocoon... preparing its meal. Threads tugged at my throat, forcing me to choke. Then everything stopped.... and everything went black.

The Bollard Family by Clara
“We stand here all day, yet hardly no-one ever notices us,” the bollard on the right (the father) stated.
“That’s not true. I can see the reflection of a man taking pictures of us,” the middle bollard (the mother) replied coolly.
“Hey! I didn’t ask you to take photos of us! I could report you to the Justice League of Bollards. They could take down all of humanity,” the father shouted, but of course no-one heard him because he was a bollard. But, the man had already walked on, just like they always did. Never thinking the bollards could speak.
