#40 by Tilly

Yesterday I walked into the sweet shop with my best friend, Jade. I asked the staff member if he had any sugar mice. “Yes,  but I'm afraid it’s the last one,” he said.
Me and Jade always get 50 sugar mice each, once a week.
Today he only had one left, and that was not good news. Good thing we always come up with good ideas! “Hey, did you know that this shop has a storage cupboard round the back?” we asked him.
He said, “No,” so we went round and got more sugar mice.
“Another thing sorted!” I cheered.

I was just lingering around looking at the school gateway waiting for my friend, when I saw a glimpse of something black in the school forest. I went over to have a look, and pulled my coat around me tighter, as it was cold in the shade of the trees. I saw that the figure was a man all dressed in black, and he started running through the KS1 playground, out the gates, and into an awaiting vehicle. We were all very confused and alarmed at this, and some of us thought it was a setup, done by Mr Wilkinson. Then the police turned up.

…but where could I go… by Tilly

We have now got a new motorhome, the question every weekend is, but where could I go? Well looking at the map, it seems the possibilities are endless, so we started to think, where have we wanted to go for ages? I have wanted to go to Butlins forever, but dad also wants to go to Twin Lakes, Jack wants to stay in a layby at Alford again, and mum wants to go to a place called Bewilderwood. We all had a big discussion, and we couldn't decide where to go first. And we are still talking about it.

Why Lucy needs to go to school by Tilly

Dear Council,
I am writing to inform you that it is very important that Lucy needs to get to school. If she doesn't, then her life will not go so well, as she will not be able to read or write, or calculate maths problems that occur in life.
If she is not able to calculate maths problems, if she buys things and gives a note, then she will not be able to tell if she has got enough change.
If she cannot read or write, then she will not be able to write to people.
Yours sincerely,

Tilly S

In England lots of different species of bees have been dropping rapidly. Bee numbers all over the country are dropping, and all because of human kind!

Newspapers, magazines, we get a first glimpse of the front cover and then it hits us almost off the face of the Earth! In the image you can see a bee laying on the huge human pier, being examined carefully by tiny crime scene investigators! They took a shrinking potion so they could examine the bee more efficiently. A human's
newspaper hit it round the face, and at the same time broke its leg!

… and when I opened the cupboard door … by Tilly

I was having a bit of a crave for sweets this morning, and decided to go and get some sweets from the cupboard. I opened the cupboard door and got out a lollipop. As I sucked on it I heard a strange unknown noise from the kitchen. It seemed to be coming from the sweet cupboard. I didn't think there should be something really bad in the sweet cupboard, could there? And when I opened the cupboard door, everything seemed normal. That was until all the sweets grew legs and took off their wrappers, then flung themselves into my mouth! I got to admit, they were tasty!

Tilly #23

Pushing through the earth, I could just about see a little worm poking out its head from the compost heap. I got out a shovel from the shed, and scooped the worm up, while my brother squirmed behind me, as he doesn’t like worms in the slightest. I carried the worm on the shovel over to the lawn, and gently laid it down. The worm didn’t budge. I tried nudging it, shooing it off the shovel. Eventually, I gave up. The worm didn’t want to get off. I picked up the shovel again, but the worm changed his mind just as I lifted it…

Meetings were held across the country to find an answer. Should Scotland be a separate country? Lots of debates were taking place at the time, and we were all wondering whether it should happen or not. This subject comes up on the news nearly every day. Some people think we should let Scotland go, as they think it would save us lots of money, as other people think Scotland should stay part of the United Kingdom because independence might cost the United Kingdom a lot of money. A lot of Scottish people believe they should never have been a part of the United Kingdom. We will only know in time.

I am feeling very excited, as it is my birthday tomorrow. I am hoping to get a new bike. Preferably pink. My brother is hoping I get a pet gorilla and it will like him best, so it will be his. He is such a daydreamer. Like I would really get a gorilla for my birthday.
Today is the day.

It is finally my birthday and I'm being chased down the stairs by my brother. I can see a grand massive present and inside it is a pink bicycle with a pink gorilla on it that just laughed at the shocked expression on my face.

There was only one problem, the custard tasted horrible! We can’t have horrible tasting custard, as we don’t have time to make more. We were about to serve this custard to 20 people, and if it’s gone off, then we are doomed. I went to the cupboard and looked at the custard packet. This custard had gone off a week ago, and we didn’t have time to go out and buy more, and the custard was one of the main parts of the meal. Me and my dad rushed out, and tried to get more, but we were too late…

… but when I put the batteries in it …by Tilly

My brother got a megaphone for Christmas, but when I put the batteries in it, he decided to shout right into it! He was trying to be mischievous, but lucky for me, the volume was turned right down, so only his shout could be heard, and not the massive sound from the megaphone. He stared open-mouthed, because he didn't think it would have a volume slider. I laughed at him and then (through a fit of giggles) said, “It has a volume slider you know! And anyway, why did you do that?” He grabbed the megaphone and yelled into it.

They walked into the room. The easel stood there, with a blank, sparkling canvas sitting on it, just waiting to be painted on. The girl crept forwards, picked up a paintbrush, and started to open a pot. "No!" he cried, as he pushed the pot out of the girl’s hands. "Stop! How do we know that this is not all a trick?" The girl just stared at him. "Why do expect me to believe that?" she snapped. "We enter a room that we have never seen before, and it is just a trick is it?" Suddenly she started to paint.

...and the noise stopped... by Tilly

And then the noise stopped. We all calmed down. But then it started again. The horrible howling, of what we didn't know. We were all screaming and running, as we were in the park. We didn't know what to do. Suddenly, Jack saw a shadow dart through the forest in the time it would have taken a cheetah. He stuttered, " I t-t-t-t-think I j-j-j-just saw what was making the n-n-n-noise." He rushed into the forest, and of course I had to follow him, so we both crept through, trying to dodge any sticks on the ground. He suddenly stopped dead.

Girl: Not just him. Her!
Boy: I said a minute ago, we have to get out of here!
Girl: Come on, quickly! They’re casting a spell! The door is shrinking!
Boy: I thought they stopped doing magic?
Girl: No, they still do it to stop us, because we are their arch nemeses. Do you remember why because I forgot!
Boy: Because they want to be the only brother and sister in the world because we are the only ones left, us and them.
Girl: Oh yeah, but the door has disappeared!
Suddenly a wizard appears.

Wizard: Well this is awkward!

Tilly - Letter in a bottle

Dear children in the Philippines,

I am very sorry about what has happened to you. If you have some bits and pieces all over the place, you could maybe rip and cut some bits up and slot them together, so you can have just a little make-shift shelter. I hope everything gets ok in the end, and that you have some money and food. Everything will turn out fine, and if you all stick together and stay strong, you will survive and be fine. I am sorry you have lost family and relatives, and hope you will be fine.

Tilly S 100 Word Challenge #9

The violent storm was knocking down trees and ripping up fences, and my brother was in the house, standing next to our mother, all shaking and teeth chattering. The storm was so strong that it shattered the fragile glass windows on our shed, and when that happened dad locked himself in the bedroom with mum and they started yelling and raging about how much money it would take to get the windows fixed, so it was just me and him, in the dark gloomy kitchen. “At least it is still a bit light.” Just then all the lights switched off.
