The Theatre by Faith

After tying my lace, I rushed to catch up to the rest of the group, I pushed open a heavy door, when all of a sudden, I realised I had opened the wrong one! The room I entered was like I had stepped back in time, it must have been the original part of the theatre, it had an old candy bar, a magnificent grand staircase, huge arched windows and a massive chandelier. As I stood admiring, imagining what it would have been like the door opened….

“There you are, come on in the show’s about to start” my teacher said.

When I was taking a stroll through the pitch-black streets (on a casual Friday night) something caught my humongous eye. It was a mossy, abandoned museum in the city’s park, I had never seen it before. I decided to explore. When I arrived at the ancient door, I tried the handle, it was locked. I kicked the door with such force it sprung open. Once inside, I spotted the enormous, silky cobwebs hanging from the unstable ceiling. There was broken stained-glass littering the floor which meant I had to watch my step, I had never seen anything like it.

Dear Mr. W~~~~~~~, I would like to inform you that you have been selected for a school for wizards. If you would like to join our great school, please sign the bottom slip. Our school has long hallways and splendid classrooms. A picture of our hall is in your pouch. You would study spells and enchantments and some potion making. Please join our brilliant school we would love you to come and join us. There are seven years at this school.

I sat and looked at the letter surprised that I'm like Harry Potter. 

I signed the letter then went.

The Cinema by Jessica

After a busy day working long hours in the old, brick walled cinema I stood at the bottom of the chocolate stairs and stared at the dusty glass chandelier. All I could think of was getting home into my pyjamas and laying in my bed watching tv with a hot chocolate. I could smell the delicious scent of the candy bar, as I stood gormlessly staring at the chandelier. As I sighed with relief that my shift was over for the night, I got my bag, switched off all the lights, locked the door and started to walk home.

The Museum by Harley

Waking up in a dark museum, I heard noises coming from on top of the roof which sounded like things I’d never heard before. I looked up as slow as a slug and saw some sort of creature moving through the cracks of the wooden roof. The noises were getting deeper sounding by every second and closer by every minute. My heart was beating as fast as anything now and I was extremely scared. Suddenly, something tapped me on the back with its claws and I fainted instantly.

I woke up that same day knowing that it was a dog.

The abandoned school by Bradley

The stair case of beige and orange, stood vertically, leading to what looked like a library (on the next floor).

The home of the staircase was a badly treated, abandoned school. This school was once a home for hundreds of joyful pupils. Until this happened...

Bang! A fire had started in the cafeteria and was rapidly spreading across the school! This incident took place on a regular day of school for the children. Teachers were crying for help - all doors were locked due to the earlier lockdown practice - and children of old and young struggled to escape, hopefully not burning themselves...

The Hotel by Aaliyah

Dear Mr. N Dacari,

                        Today your uncle has fallen terribly Ill and is unable to run his hotel (which is in Miami) due to this, and a long lecture, your uncle has come to an agreement to say you now own his hotel. In a small package that should have come with this letter you will find; money, a plane ticket, and a key. Bring the items with you to Miami to run the hotel. I, along with; Housekeeper John, Max, Luke, Sarah, Wendy and Jane will renovate this hotel in two to three years.

I got a new job last week in a candy bar at a train station. It was a very old train station; 50 years old. As soon as I began to work there, I could tell that something just wasn't right. There were rumours that the original owner (who died in 1979) haunts the corridors. But they're just rumours, right? It wasn't until this 7-year-old girl bought some candy last week, that I thought the rumours were true. She disappeared down the corridor and out of sight. Suddenly, I heard her scream. And then, I saw the figure....

One day I sat on my bed alone. I felt a weird feeling like I was trying to find something. No, that’s not right like my soul was trying to find something... I don’t know. I went out to find this thing, but it just led me outside on to my lawn. I dug up a box it was empty. What a surprise all that work for nothing. But then I saw an opening in the box, so I pulled it and there was a map inside of it. It looked like it led to some temple or volcano!

The clock struck... “Ugghhh!” sighed Isabel; time to do the boring laundry. Isabel hated doing the laundry. What about all of the other things she could have done instead of waiting for the clothes to be ready. Things like: going to a friend’s; bike outside; go for a walk down to the shop. Well, anyway... Isabel strolled up, [as slow as a slimy slug] and looked inside the washing machine; she looked as though she had just knocked herself out! “It’s empty. What a surprise!” Her stupid mum played a trick on her and made her wait for nothing. “Ahhhhh!”

When I was outside of my beautiful house, which was new, checking out my dull garage filled with boxes. After that, I started to check out the massive boxes, but they were empty. What a surprise! I thought, I wondered why they were so enormous. Suddenly, I heard a massive thud, so I sprinted over - it was a sly fox. Quickly, I shut the garage door but just as it was about to touch the solid ground the fox skidded under; I was annoyed. Minutes passed, I looked in the others but again it was empty there was just dust and cobwebs.

“Alright, surrender the gold, Hook!” shouted Peter Pan – from beyond the sky’s shaded grey clouds.

“I’ll never give it to a young, and silly boy like you!” yapped Captain Hook, whilst his servant (Smee) looked through his rusted telescope to spot out Peter’s next move. Hook was very stubborn (and absolutely HATED Pan).

Hook rushed to his hammock and laid out the little treasure box he had stolen from Peter. He opened it roughly, with a fierce force, to find it... empty. What a surprise!

He yelled in anger “I’ll get you Pan!” .... whilst hearing him laughing in the distance.

My dog Toby has been acting a little different for a while now, I started to think he was getting lonely or even ill. Every time I went in the kitchen he runs and hides, I was so suspicious, I needed to get to the bottom of this.

I went to the kitchen, the door of the cupboard, where his treats were kept away from him, was slightly open. I opened the cupboard door, a packet fell out, empty! What a surprise, Toby had eaten them all. I looked over at him, he ran and laid on his bed. No more treats.

It was Christmas Eve, and two siblings had just fallen out with each other. Why? You may ask, because they both wanted to listen to the same cd in their own room. Unfortunately, they only owned one CD player.

The next day, they had still not made up, besides that they were both sat downstairs next to the tree opening presents, when Lola began opening her present from her sister. She realised it was... empty. "What a surprise," Lola said miserably. “That was the wrong box,” Lola's sister said as she gave Lola a big hug. They had made up!

Drip, drop. Drip, drop. The rain spat from the dull, grey sky. The house was empty. What a surprise! They’d all left to go to a sunnier country and left me here. Why me? I am not that bad. Drip, drop. Drip, drop. The rain wasn’t stopping, it just got heavier. Why me? I thought to myself again. How could they just leave me here; I can’t drive, I can hardly cook, and so on. Maybe I am just so useless they couldn’t be bothered to take me. What am I supposed to do now? I am just so unlucky.

I hate it when mum is ill. She thinks I'm a slave. All she ever tells me to do is make her a coffee or tea and bring the biscuits. Today I had had enough. I was going to prank her.  I went upstairs to see if mum wanted to have a tea or coffee. She wanted a caramel coffee. Quickly, I rushed down the stairs and made it. I grabbed the drink and the biscuit tin and went back up. She took a sip, it had salt in. Rapidly she opened the biscuit tin. It was empty. What a surprise!

The room was completely empty. What a surprise! Not a sound broke though the silence. Everything had gone, no chairs, no photos, no toys not even a curtain at the window, just a lonely spider crawling down the wall. Something was very wrong about this room, it felt cold and misty. As I walked slowly into the room, I could smell the rust from the cold radiator which had been leaking over the past year. A cold shiver ran through my spine as I took a deep breath of the rusty air. “BANG!” the door slammed shut...

On a miserable, cold day, a girl called Faith was playing outside in her garden. A friend called Lilly came over to play with her. They decided to play in Faith’s sandpit, but it looked different - really empty. What a surprise! All of her family came over and shouted, “Surprise!” She felt so surprised and really happy. Her family hid the toys on purpose just to make her feel different. They made a surprise into a party with all her family and some friends. The cake, which they were eating, tasted really delicious and creamy. This was an amazing day.

Last week, a strange parcel arrived on my doorstep. I was anxious to open it since it wasn't the postman who delivered it. I knew that because it was Sunday and the postman doesn't deliver on a Sunday. I opened it reluctantly then said, “Oh! It's empty. What a surprise!” Then I noticed a dent in the bottom of the box and a note that said, 'Step inside'. So, I did what it said, and I fell into a hidden room under the house. I honestly can't remember anything else that happened. All I remember is that it wasn't fun....

Me and my best friend, Bob, were walking down Red Street when we found a ladder that led down to the sewer. Bob decided that it was a good idea to go down and have a look. That was the last terrible idea he ever had. I refused to go down there so he called me a chicken. I just rolled my eyes and sat down on the pavement. "Hey, there's lots of coins down here!" He exclaimed excitedly. But, as soon as he stepped down on the ground, he began sinking, until he completely disappeared. It was so scary!
