Statues by Julia

As the blistering sun glistened, the pale white statues stood in the vast space. The stripes on their gowns slithered down their bodies like snakes sneaking up to their prey. Their majestic heads had sharp thorns reaching up to the sapphire blue sky like pointed needles. The mystical statue on the left, with the bull’s head, stared miserably ahead. Its body looked like it was torn asunder in a gruesome battle. Whilst the creatures stood there alone they were secretly guarding the perilous forest behind them. If you went inside the forest you could hear the bloodcurdling wind howling in your ears and amongst rustling trees. The little hills of dead thick grass were scattered everywhere near the statues. 
Nobody dared to go near them or touch them. They were a token in memory of a notable farmer whose life was brutally ruined…
