…suddenly all the lights went out…by Sophie

Yesterday was horrible for me and my family. Our plane had just landed in America and we were about to get out of our seats when suddenly all the lights went out. Everyone started to scream and panic.
"Everyone, calm down! It's going to be fine," one of the crew shouted.
The cabin crew handed torches to people who couldn't find their phones or didn't have them with them. Suddenly there was a loud BANG! Then the lights came back on.
 "Hooray!" passengers exclaimed.
I was extremely happy to get off the plane.

...the noise was SO loud... by Kirsten

The noise was SO loud! It was so loud that I couldn't get to sleep, and that's something! I slept through a 6.8 magnitude earthquake and I slept through the music at a Glastonbury festival. That's just some of them! That's how much of a heavy sleeper I am. The only thing was, I couldn't work out what the noise was. It was definitely coming from next door. I decided to get dressed and go and see what was going on. The funny thing is they are not home. I wonder where that noise came from and what it was!

...the noise was SO loud... by Sophie

As I went to bed I heard a banging noise, I knew that the neighbours were moving but they shouldn't be that loud. I tried to get to sleep but the noise was SO loud that I couldn't. I went downstairs to tell my mum that I couldn't get to sleep because the neighbours were banging. When I got downstairs mum wasn't there and I got really worried but then she came through the front door. "Where was you mum?" I questioned.
"I just went next door to ask them to quiet down and they said they would," mum answered.

..the noise was SO loud.. by Frankie

As I was eating my breakfast, it struck me, the deafening sound of dad's rock music coming from upstairs. The volume was up to its highest or at least that's how it sounded and I couldn't stand it so I ran upstairs and shouted at my dad to turn it off but he didn't hear me obviously! He needed to turn the volume down because I was scared it would upset our neighbours so it definitely needed to be a few decibels quieter. I went off to get mum but I forgot that she went out shopping so I couldn't use her as any help towards the situation. I thought to myself what to do? But then again I couldn't think because of the music, the noise was SO loud that the dog started howling! In the end I marched upstairs and took the plug out of the socket in the wall, I don't think my dad was too happy!

Kirsten

This story is about how the world has evolved over the years. At first the spheroid earth was just lush water and boats sailed around like nobody's business. Then the land came and ships had to be careful about where they went so they weren't shipwrecked. Then a big flood came from God to get rid of all the bad. The ships ruled once again and took over. Over time the land took over again and all the ships slowly got shipwrecked and were abandoned. That's why all the forests, towns and cities you visit are full of shipwrecked boats!

…steel, carrots, tearful, under, mauve …by Kirsten

I felt tearful as I hid under my bed sheets. My mauve eye shadow rushed down my cheeks as tears splurged down my cheeks. I felt so upset. I thought I was as strong as steel and nothing could bring me down, but obviously I was wrong. We should have been like two peas in a pod, two carrots in the ground, but it just didn't turn out like that. My life wasn't ruined, my friendships were finished. I didn't have any friends, or self-confidence. What was I going to do? My mind was blank, my thoughts gone. I was lost...

…steel, carrots, tearful, under, mauve …by Cloud

I couldn't wait to go on the steel plane; I was going to go to Mexico for three weeks because I hadn't seen my family in ages. I felt a bit tearful just thinking about them. I sat on one of the mauve seats, for some reason the place stank of carrots. I placed my bag under the seat in front of me. The plane ride was eight hours I was so relieved when we finally landed. The landing and take-off are the best parts. It makes your stomach feel like it has turned upside down.

…steel, carrots, tearful, under, mauve … by Sophie

As I went home, I saw some mauve steel under a box outside our house. When I went inside the house I found a big pile of carrots in the living room. "Mum, why is there a big bag of carrots in the living room?" I asked.
"We ordered a bag of carrots but they sent a sack instead." she answered.
"Are they going to take them away?" I questioned.
"Yes but we have to take them to the shop ourselves." Mum said. "Anyway what's the matter, you look tearful?" she asked.
"Someone was mean to me, but l don't want to talk about it." I stated.

… as the weather changed..., by Kirsten

I was happily typing up my homework on my new laptop when I heard a loud bang. It sounded like it was coming from outside so I looked out of the window to see if I could see anything, but I couldn't. I could only see a few people walking. It must have been someone gardening, so I decided to keep on typing. Then the bang came back and the sky turned grey. The people were still walking by and as the weather changed, they ran and sheltered under a tree. The sky was now bright blue! That was strange!

The party.by Cloud

Boom! The thunder outside was getting louder and louder. There was no chance that we would be able to go outside because it was getting bad. I knew that the party would be ruined. Aimee and Courtney would have come here for nothing. We had to compromise by playing a game of Cluedo. By the end of the game I was already getting very scared. As the weather changed, they started telling scary stories trying to creep each other out. It wasn't a very good idea but it was very fun. None of us wanted the party to end.

… as the weather changed, they …by Sophie

The weather was cold and wet and there was no life about, just a boring old little town. We had flood warnings but the sea was still quite calm and I didn't think anything was going to happen. Unfortunately, the sea got stronger and came up to the beach edge, and as the weather changed, they {the coastal guards} put the flood barriers up. I now began to get worried so I decided to get my gas burner out and I took some food and valuable things upstairs just in case the worst happened. I just hoped nothing would happen...

Pot of Legs by Todd

On Monday I was having a walk with my friend and there was a mysterious pot on a piece of stone. The pot was a man eating thing but we did not know it was a man eating pot. But when we arrived at the park two large tentacles came out of the mouth of the pot and grabbed us and pulled us closer to the mouth until we got inside.

Pot of Legs by Rhianna

Drinking from a cup
A miraculous cup,
Turns water into wine
Without having a grape vine.
Turns wine into juice
Flavours from cherry, to moose.
Turns juice into soda
Pumped out straight from South Dakota.
Turns soda back into wine
But this is white; it's less divine.
Turns white wine into milk
Without a drop spilt.
Turns milk into hot cocoa
As cold drinks are now a no-no.
Turns hot cocoa into milkshake
And turns that into liquid cake
Blended in a blender,
Mostly thick but sometimes slender
Turns the cake into legs.
Wait... What?
They strangle you until you're dead.

Pot of Legs by Cloud

In the little town of Munich there stood a statue that nobody really noticed except from a small boy and his grandmother. Every night the boy’s grandmother would tell him stories about the pot from when she was but a small child. She explained that the reason the pot has so many legs sticking out is because inside the pot there is rumoured to be mountains of gold. Many greedy people once they heard the news had tried to climb in and steal the gold for themselves little did they know there was a dark side to the pot.

Pot of legs by Sophie

In the lovely coloured giant plant pot are lots of legs, which have red, purple, blue and green running down them. The legs look like fake legs so an artist must have made them and put them in there in a cool way so they looked realistic. The pot looks as if it is at an outdoor art gallery or maybe a garden centre, but it might get moved to somewhere else because it is on a big black stand. I don't think it is real because the amount of legs that are there wouldn't be able to fit in.

Peaky the Ohbot's message by Sophie

Greetings humans of Earth I am in space watching the earth get smaller as I go further up. I would like to thank my engineers and pupils at Pixmore Junior School for making me and sending me off.
My name is Sophie and I am 11 years old, I may not be able to ever visit the rainforest as it is getting chopped down, the more trees that get cut down the closer we get to suffocating. This also means that animals have nowhere to go and neither do the people who live there, I hope this message gets out to the world.

Peaky the Ohbot's message by Jessica

Greetings humans of Earth, before I was sent up here I noticed how much bullying was going on. I have been sent on an urgent mission to stop it. I can not leave until I have completed this mission so that is why I have come here earlier than I should have by approximately twelve years. I have nearly completed this mission without you noticing yet. Tomorrow I will be gone because I will have finished my mission. You see, I work at night as well to get the job done even quicker. You will no longer see me again.

…but where were they going?… by Frankie

At the weekend, I was going to the shop but on my way there I saw some of my cousin's friends heading into the woods. I don't know why but I decided to follow them but where were they going? What were they going to do when they got there? They stopped at an old and abandoned building. They opened the door and entered, I looked through a dirty broken window and saw them inside, they looked like they were reading a map of some sort, perhaps they were trying to find buried treasure or something. Either way, it was a mystery and it was getting dark, so I decided to walk home.

…but where were they going?… by Jessica

I could see my friends in the distance but where were they going? I realised that I had collapsed on the concrete floor. I felt someone lift me up from behind. I turned my head and saw my mother. "Are you alright?" she asked.
"Yeah I'm fine." She looked rather worried but I wasn't surprised. When I woke up I found myself in an armchair with the TV still on. All I wanted was a lovely hot cup of tea with a slice of chocolate cake with icing. I called my mum and that was exactly what she gave me.

…as the smoke cleared… by Sophie

We were just outside when we started to smell a rich oaky smell, we didn't really know what it was because it smelt like cigarettes but it was stronger. Then we looked around to see that the bakery was on fire, suddenly someone shouted, "Fire fire, the bakery is on fire, everyone move and stay away because... because the smoke is dangerous please get as far back as you can!" As the smoke cleared the fire brigade and the ambulance came, everyone was puzzled as to why the ambulance was here but then we realised the bakery lady was severely injured.
