Grace LB …as they turned the corner… 100WC#26

“I don't think that we should be here,” whispered Lila.
“Don't be such a wimp, you're scared, it's obvious,” replied Jean. They were in the old house that was shut down after the big flood of 1997.  It was still dripping wet and the floorboard creaked, as they turned the corner a group of old bats flew past them. “Everything is fine,” Jean hesitated. Suddenly a big white shadow came from the other corridor. “AAAAAAHHHHH!” screamed Jean and ran out of the house.
“Fantastic prank!”Lila whispered to her friend Tina.
“Hilarious!” shouted Tina and burst out in laughter.

  1. Hi Grace
What a fantastic opening line! It grabbed my attention straight away and had me on the edge of my seat wondering where 'here' was. You have used speech very creatively to both open your story spectacularly and to tell the rest of the story. I loved the twist at the end also. Well done. Excellent 100 word challenge.
